I'm currently in the hotel as I write this review, so I'm not speaking from memory when I write this.
Me and a friend are currently backpacking all around Asia, arriving at Koh Samui yesterday, and hence spent our first night in BB Hotel last night. The rooms were great! As we've been slumming it for a few weeks it is nice to have the luxury of air con and a nice big spacious room. There is also a fridge (with two complementary bottles of water), and a safe which was unfortunately broken. It's 700B per night for a double room, so at 350B each it was a pleasant surprise!
Our room looks over the main road so it gets noisy at times, but nothing too horrific and the noise died off towards the early hours of the morning.
There's a bar at the back of the hotel with a pool table that's free to anyone who buys a drink there, which is where we spent this evening. We were there for a few hours and what seemed at first to be a group of girls having a few drinks together turned out to be something completely different. We watched as middle aged white guys turned up throughout the night and started speaking to one of the girls. One guy walked off with one of the girls (who was well below half his age) and didn't return while another disappeared with another girl into a room in the corner of the bar, locked the door and pulled the curtains to, blocking our view. The guy came out looking very sheepish with a forehead glistening with sweat so I don't think I need to explain what they were up to, but we caught a glimpse of a double bed in the room when they left.
We overheard another guy asking one of the girls "How much if you touch it?", but in fairness we didn't hear the context so it is impossible to ascertain what was going on there.
If you do go, stay away from the bar!
