“Heaven on earth?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

This chic and stunning resort is perfectly located just a short walk from the main hub at Chaweng beach, yet it is peaceful and quiet. We stayed at one of the suites on the second floor. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated with luxurious details both inside and outside on the balcony.

The pool area is located just off the beach and I can’t emphasize enough how much we loved it. A remarkable sun deck with a well equipped pool bar. The pool is very refreshing with rather cold water and that is something you will love as it can be very hot during the day. The bartenders in the pool bar made us smile and enjoy our self every single day, and you will know right away that they take pride of their work and that they will go the extra mile to make customer satisfaction go through the roof. They have a great selection of wines, beer and liquors, but I strongly recommend that you try out their smoothies as well. They are so refreshing and tasty that it is actually quite difficult to stop drinking them. Re-Energy and Thailand delight were our favorites, and we miss them a lot!

The breakfast buffet at the restaurant “The Chefs table” is amazing with everything you can imagine from fresh fruits of the season to tasty Asian dishes. The restaurant is superior with a rich menu and we had lunch almost every day at “The Chefs table”. We also had the romantic candle light dinner at the beach, and we strongly recommend it as it truly is an amazing experience. The staff at Sareeraya has an eye for details and the candle light dinner is extremely good value for money. Magical setting right at the beach, delicious food and 5 star service, you couldn’t ask for more!

The beach at Sareeraya is the best part of Chaweng. You can see the staff cleaning the beach from sunset till dawn, and in my opinion that really makes the difference. The sun beds are comfortable and the bartenders makes sure you are refreshed all day long. Another detail we loved is that the staff regularly provides you with cold towels to cool down during the day.

The spa at Sareeraya is truly a five star luxury with some of the best treatments we have experienced in Thailand. Even though it is more steeply priced than more local spas and massage parlors, it is well worth the money! The staff at the reception will swiftly take care of your bookings.

The fitness center consists of a treadmill, elliptical machine, exercise bike, dumbbell set (Up to 16 Kg), adjustable bench (Flat and incline), crunch bench, fitness mats and a couple of fitness balls. It is not big, but it is more than enough to get a good full body workout. Free fresh water is provided and the room is perfectly air conditioned.

The last night we were lucky to be upgraded to a pool Villa. The pool Villa is very spacious and beautifully decorated as well. We loved the outdoor area with a plunge pool and two sun beds.
I read a couple of reviews claiming the pool Villas are not good value for money compared to the suites. I have to say I disagree as it all depends on what you are looking for. What you get in addition with a Pool Villa is more space and privacy, as you can enjoy yourself on the sun beds all day long in complete privacy.

Finally I have to complement the staff at Sareeraya. They are caring and utterly service minded. Even though we are talking about the land of smiles, the staff at Sareeraya smiles even more and they all have the gift to make you feel welcome and taken care of in any way! I had some special requests as I was going to propose to my girlfriend during the stay. Elisa (Sales and relationship manager) helped me to arrange a truly remarkable day that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much!

I would recommend this resort to anyone with no hesitations. Please rest assure that you can’t go wrong with a booking at this resort. I am positive that you will experience the holiday you are dreaming of!

Kind regards,

Per Aage Naevestad

Me and my wife generally go to Koh Samui every year. I have stayed at places like the Sala Samui and Amari Palm Reef and have to say that the Sareeraya is the best. We have just booked our 3rd trip back here recently and I cannot wait to return. The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff are all very friendly and happy to help when asked. Whilst it is in Cheweng it is at the Northern end which is the best part of the beach and well protected compared to other parts of Chaweng. It is only a short stroll into all the markets and nightlife. I would throughly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Koh Samui to choose this resort, you will not be disappointed.

Really nice relatively small hotel.

(+) Small, not crowdy
Within a walking distance to Chaweng, without though being too close and noisy
Excellent service
Good food

(-) The beach in front is not good, however this is the case for Chaweng in general

I would definately recommend it.

We just came back and we had a lovely time (I am 40 yrs old and my girlfriend is 26). Service was supreb, stuff always ready to serve you and they were very polite with excellent english. Pool is amazing and so is the bar. The beach is 20 meters from the pool and is by far the nicest piece of beach around.

The only downside was the breakfast - buffet is short of real variety and must improve.

Room Tip: Choose a suite located at the 3rd floor with an ocean view (Suit with outdoor Jacuzi). By far the be...

Dear RoyAhiezer,

Thank you for your wonderful remarks regarding your recent stay with us at Sareeraya Villas & Suites. We appreciate you taking the time to post such positive comments, especially about our staff.

Regarding our breakfast buffet, we have more than 60 items available every morning, many of them changing on a daily basis. Some dishes are cooked to order and are not featured on the buffet itself. Crepes, Waffles, Pancakes, Various Choices of Eggs and many more are prepared in our Open Kitchen to provide quality, freshly cooked dishes.

We understand that every culture has their own breakfast preferences and traditions and as much as we would love to provide all of our guests with their beloved traditional breakfast foods with sometimes 15 – 20 different nationalities in our hotel at the same time we have to find a middle way to cater for everybody. For special requests, guests may consult our Executive Chef, who will do his very best to accommodate individual tastes and requirements.

We stayed here for 8 nights and found the rooms to be spacious, large balcony with expansive sea views from third floor. Food in restaurant was uniformly yummy with great choice. Staff there were most attentive even during busy Chinese New year period. It was lovely being right on the beach with long walk possible.

oh my god, where do i start on this amazing hotel? me & my husband have been to some great hotels but this tops the lot hands down! the service was second to none, the staff very cheerful & seemed genuinely happy in their jobs.we had a room with a hot tub on the balcony & lying in bed we had a lovely sea view.Having eaten at the top expensive restaurants in Hong Kong i can honestly say, hand on heart, that the food here was the best i have ever tasted.even down to the presentation, everything was just fantastic, even the snacks around the pool were out of this world.we had the barbecue on beach (a must!!) which was just amazing, choosing your own fish & eating as much as you like!.this was the only hotel on all the beachfront that we noticed cleaned their own bit of sand & beach which kept the front looking immaculate! you can get hassled a little bit on the beach by the sellers but if you look away they wont normally bother you & there's a rope along the sand that they cant pass over to get to to you.having said that, they do sell some lovely stuff & you can knock them down to silly prices!! if you walk down the road to all the shops & bars be careful of the walkways, its best to get a tuk tuk (taxi) as the pavements are in a bit of mess & a bit tricky to see where you are going.overall this hotel treated us like stars from the minute we arrived to the minute we left,we shall definately be returning here again!! the staff all need a big pat on the back, well done sareeraya!!

Room Tip: go for a room with hot tub, great view of the sea!!

Was lucky enough to stay at this stunning property in October 2011. It's totally beautiful from the minute your walk in. The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished. If you can push the boat out and get either a pool villa or pool access room it's well worth it. Restaurant has a huge variety for breakfast. Guests seemed to go out for dinner which is a shame as it leaves a restaurant of great standard quiet in the evenings. Found staff to be courteous and polite, as you would expect from Thai people. Have read a few reviews about bugs. This is nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel is very clean but your are in the tropics people and bugs are everywhere! Would recommend this property for all ages. Although children are not catered for, they are certainly welcome. One advantage this property has oven many of it's rivals is the lack for steps and stairs. Lift access is available to other floors - and this is quite rare in Koh Samui. For a luxury boutique hotel in Koh Samui you can't go past this one. It's really got the WOW factor. The only downside was the a/c is very noisy in the room and you need to turn it off at night.

Dear Alison M,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us on your business trip and also for taking the time and effort to review our hotel. All your great comments and feedback on many areas of our hotel are a pleasure to read. We are delighted that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay here in the tropics and that our cuisine and services met your expectations. If we had known you had concerns about the air conditioner in your room, we could have addressed the matter so that it would not have inconvenienced you. Normally the air conditioners run quietly and provide comfortable sleeping conditions.

Thank you once again for your excellent review. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Sareeraya Villas & Suites, hopefully in the near future!
