“5 star is to much, this hotel only worth 3 stars...”

Airport pick up service worked but the check in was a disaster. The persons checking us inn were incompetent. They keept asking for a voucher we did not have as we booked on the hotel web page. When they finally found a way to check us inn without a voucher they could not see the diffrence between my IATA ID and my creditcard i had to point out the creditcard. One of the check inn staff explained to us that they had an upgrade available wich would be better for us because we were supposed to stay 7 nights. They took us to see the room and when we said ok to the upgrade we were told that the price for the upgrade was 5000 thb ekstra pr night. They should have told us the price before we were taken to see the room it was a totally wast of time.
We did not want to pay that much more just for a bigger room. We said no and were given a regular size wichpool villa that we had booked from the start. I am sure it was the worst one thay had. The once white marble bathroomfloor was almost black with dirt the villa was right next to the naboring constructionsite. It had spider webs on the sink and in the evening when we came back to the villa the bathroomfloor was full of big black ants and other insects and there was a horrible smell of sewer in the room due to a leak under the sink. We complained and were moved the next day to a diffrent villa away from the construcktionsite and a little cleaner or so we thought from the first glimpse. But no we found a used soapbar by the wihrlpool and cigaretbutts in the outdoor shower and when we wanted to use the whirlpool and started the pumps it was full of green algae. We complained and was told that they could move us to a diffrent villa but we were not happy and asked if they would charge us the full amount for the six nights if we wanted to leave early as we fount that there had been so many problems that we didnt want to stay. They said that they would charge us the full amount that was their terms. We are not millionairs so we had to stay and it totally ruined our vaccation. When we checked out 7 days after the cigaretbutts were still there and we had to throw out the old soap bar our selfs.
My conclusion is that if we had accepted to pay the 5000 ekstra for the upgrade we probabley would have been threaded a lot better.
so 4-5 stars no way we vould not even give them 3 stars.
And be ware even thoug the hotel is 3 km from Chaweng you can hear techno music at night even thoug the aircon is on.

I booked this hotel last minute to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the whole experience was truly special.
Hotel is very near airport a 200 bhat taxi ride, be careful when you arrive at airport not to take the limo transfer service which will charge you twice the amount. Walk out & barter with private taxi for best price, they normally start at 300 but if you are lucky you could even get 150 but 200 is normal.
When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a lovely but cooling drink and a cold towel to refresh. Check in was smooth and quick, you will have to give your credit card details as security/deposit if anything does go wrong. This hotel is part of the Centara group of hotels and like most Centara hotels is running a promotion of buy 10000 get 5000 baht free, so for 10000 bath you get to spend 15000 baht at the hotel. We waited the 24 hours to see what the food was like before we took the offer up.
We were shown to our room which was a Deluxe Seaview Villa. I must say the Villa was something special. We had a large double (should I say Queen size, anyway the bed was very big) & a bed for our teenage daughter which fitted comfortably in the room with plenty of space left. The bedroom opened to a balcony with seating and some breathtaking views of the Sea as this hotel is on a steep slope and most of the Villas have some lovely views. Please do not be put off by the slope as the hotel provides a golf cart service to take you around the hotel when you need it. We used this service whenever we had to get back to our room and was very quick and efficient. Back to the Villa, we had a lovely big bright bathroom which opened out to an outside area for a rainwater shower, which we used every day & was lovely. The housekeeping was efficient & friendly as ever whenever we requested anything it was delivered promptly with a smile.
The hotel has lovely swimming pools all designed around a waterfaals theme as is most of the hotel and it's grounds you will see watefalls everywhere, very soothing & pleasant to hear rhe sound of water even if you just sat there sipping away at your cocktail & soaking in the sun. The pool down towards the beach has a swim up bar & the pool at reception at the top has a bar next to it. The sunbeds were lovely wooden ones with deep/thick cushions on them almost good as the bed. Towels are provided. There is a limited amount of water sports on offer. The hotel has it's own Kayak/boat which you can use, which we did to hop over to a deserted island not too far away. They provide lifejackets. At the nearby hotels on the beach there is waterskis available for hire (please be careful with these & check the ski for any damage & point out before taking the ski otherwise you could end up with paying more than you bargained for as some people we talked to on beach experienced).
The hotel has a large pool table free to use as well as computers with free internet at the library and pool bar. You can also borrow DVD's from library as well as books to read. However if you do have kids you can always buy DVD's from Chaweng for under 100 baht for some of the latest action, this kept out teenage daugher occupied a couple of the nights when she did not fancy going into town.
I am a vegetarian as is my family and it is always difficult to find hotels that make any decent food for you. I have travelled all over the world to many hotels of different star ratings and have never had vegetarian food as we were treated to at the Bhundari courtesey of the head chef Shaun & the FBM (Food and Beverages Manager) Mr Komeesa. Top marks in every way we were treated to some gourmet 4 course cuisine each night a fusion of flavours from all over the world. We left it to the chef to create and create he did, some of the very best vegetarian food I have had in any hotel. Well worth every baht we paid for it. My advise to you is if you do not find anything that is to your liking on the menu or you have any dietary requirements please discuss with the FBM or the chef who will be more than accomadating to do something for you. We ate at the hotel every night and did not find the need to eat anywhere else as every night was like visiting another restaurant serving some of the best food I have ever tasted.
The hotel is not walking distance to Chaweng which is where all the action is. But it is not expensive to get to about 200 baht by taxi (you will need to bargain down to this price) or 30-50 by the shared Tuk-tuk type service or about 20-30 on back of a scooter taxi. The hotel also provides a shuttle to Chaweng which stops and picks you up from the same spot 3 times a day, although I think the hotel could add one more shuttle at 6pm as there is a long gap between 3pm & 9pm when the bus shuttle to Chaweng runs.
The beach at the hotel is nice and quiet, you almost feel as though you are on a deserted island. This is definately the spot if you want to get away from the madding crowd. Lovely calm waters and safe to swin in. I would personally recommend you take water shoes, although it is not necessary as there are some rocks in the water. On this part of the beach there are not many beach vendors to disturb you as there would be on Chaweng. Most of the hotels on this streach of the beach are Spa resorts as is the Bhundari. We only used the Spa once and found it to be a bit too expensive compared to others in town.
We had massages almost every day in Chaweng and after a few days of trial and error we settled for a massage place called Best massage which was in a street opp Macdonalds in Chaweng. About 250 baht for a Thai massage which was very good at this place. If you have not had a thai massage before it does take getting use to but it is a wonderful experience. It is a must to do whilst you are in Thailand.
Trips to do would be Mr Ungs Jungle Safari which I would personally recommend & well worth every penny considering what is included for the price. Defeinately a fun day out.
The other trip that is well worth is a visit to Anthong National marine Park, which is a group of so many small islands. A good trip which includes things like sea kayaking, snorkling (although a bit dissapointed as ther is not much to see). The trip is a good day out and gets you out of your hotel to see the flaura & fauna of the islands around Samui which have some breathtaking views especially the Emerald lake which is a must to see.
Overall this hotel would rate as one of the very best I have ever stayed at. The food would be the best I have had in any hotel. Samui is a wonderful island with very friendly people full of smiles and a warm welcome.
I would give thsi hotel 6 stars if I could for a truly amazing place.

This is one special hotel. The hotel consists of many buildings built into a hillside which are striking to look at. The interior is very chic and the rooms are good enough for honeymooners - we stayed in a pool villa with a plunge pool. In addition to our own plunge pool there are 2 further swimming pools, one of which is perfect for swimming off those calories from too much green curry! (...there's also a gym.)

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant is of a very good standard, apparently the chef is South African and has been brought in from a top hotel in Dubai - it's clear they take their cuisine very seriously.

The hotel location is slightly out of Chaweng which gives it a peaceful atmosphere, and it is only 5 minutes in a taxi or on a scooter should you want the hustle and bustle. The grounds are quite hilly so not suitable for the elderly and young children, but this is a minor point as there are golf buggies to take you around.

This is a wonderful hotel, very romantic but also good for groups as there's plenty of space. We just can't wait to go back.
