“Above average really”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

This resort hotel is set off the main road by about 100m and so transport (car or motobike) are essential. The resort is hidden behind high walls, but once inside is a Thai version of a Japanese garden, beautifully lit at night.
We stayed in one of two bungalows which had a kitchen/living room, bedroom and bathroom. All quite spacious if a little old fashioned.
The restaurant has a limited choice and should only be used if you are desperate.
A real annoyance is the inability to pay by card. Only cash is acceptable. Why don't the booking agents tell you this? A further annoyance was the withholding of my passport until I had paid. Very naughty as I had been told it would be returned on day two.

Room Tip: There are two bungalows and lots of cabins

Thank you for choosing our resort during your stay on koh samui, and take note of your opinion.
we wish to provide some explanations for the small inconveniences that you shared with us. Regarding card payment, failure of our terminal that occurred during your stay in thailand and interventions may take a few days as several weeks delay independent of our will, and we're really sorry.
As mentioned on the site booking, the stay must be paid on arrival, so we keep the passport until the balance is not regularized normal and common practice in hotelerie.
Our restaurant serves breakfast as mentioned on our website, European and Thai map, and we understand that a different cuisine can sastisfaire everyone. We hope to have provided all the answers to our future travelers

Very nice resort. Relaxing and soothing atmosphere. The staff were extremely kind and constantly making sure that everyone was having a lovely time. The bungalows were well organised and well built, very homy. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking to get away from the dull every day life.

Our accommodation was effectively a hut (aka a tropical bungalow). There was a hard king sized bed in there with just enough room to walk around and nowhere to put our bags. There was a damp smell as we first walked in after checking in. The walls were stapled together and the AC unit occasionally leaked. It was a 10-15 min journey by cab to what you would consider to be Chaweng proper, although there were one or two small shops within walking distance. The staff were very nice, but we did find it strange that guests were told they could not change their towels daily as it would create too much laundry. I 100% understand and support ecologically sound hotel policies but when a guest asks for new towels you can't say no.

we thank you for your passage in our resort, and concerning your remarks, we simply want to indicate that the information on the location of our resort is very well to indicate on booking websites thus no surprise for our customers concerning the distance has 10mm of chaweng, also on your accommodation(housing) hard and to dress in bamboo, all the photos are prensentent on sites thus always any surprise for our clients.nous let us think indeed that you certainly are not to accustom has this type(chap) of accommodation(housing) and to preferer certainly hotel chains, with much less charm.
Concerning the change of hand towels, as in every hotel we remplacons only the dirty towels(briefcases) and has the demand(request) of the customer, this fact I think that you were certainly sad with the language of the thailande, to make your demand(request) with our staff.
On your accommodation(housing) indeed that this and very hard with a dressing in bamboo, typical it thaillande and, to see choice and mention on quite our booking websites, it is simply enough to look well at photos, after you never have we to mention flight(leak) of climatiation or other inconveniences in ....... I thinks that hotel chains correspond better has your type(chap) of accommodation(hosting) for your next vacancy. We stay has the listening of our customers and I wish all the best to you

Chaweng is a busy place on Ko Samui. In contrast, this resort offers a pleasant refuge from all the traffic and masses of people. The resort is a 5min walk away from the beautiful beach of Chaweng, you just need to cross a little palmtree forest. This is enough to make it a quiet place, and combined with the super friendly staff and very pleasant place to stay.
Deedee and Jojo, the house-keeping couple, are the soul of that place: always a smile, always available to help you out.
The rooms are admittedly small but fully sufficient if you spend your days mostly outside anyway. In the resort, your own porch, the pool, or the restaurant provide for sufficient space. Maybe only downside: a bit more frequent cleaning of the rooms could do well, but given price-value this was fully acceptable for us.

I would like to start with the good things about this hotel: The staff. The lady that checked me in was vey helpful and she even cooked me some eggs and toast because I didn't have anything to eat at night or any way to get out of the hotel. So that's where the bad things start. The hotel is at the end of a dirt road and not very accessible by walk, now if you rent a bike or car, yeah, no problem.
The rooms were not very clean and specially the bathroom!
Will not recommend.

We tried to book a room here on Agoda at around $45 (AUD) per night. We went as far as putting our bank details in but the payment system was down. So when we arrived in Chaweng we asked our taxi to take us here (not so easy to find, you may want to pre-download a map on your smart phone to help with the taxi). Upon arrival I asked the lady at reception if they had room and she said they had none. This was strange because on Agoda that morning we saw they had 4 bungalows in that price range plus some others. When I told her what I had seen on Agoda we started waving some papers in my face and then suddenly she told me they had one room but she quoted me around $50 for it.

Then I explained the price is different from the internet, and that perhaps I can book it online quickly using their wifi, she just shrugged her shoulders. I told at that price we would only stay one night and she made a bit of fuss about us staying only one night. She kept saying 'no problem no problem' but then being weird about the one night at the same time. I felt like she really didn't want me to stay. Still she showed me a bungalow which was small for $50 and nothing special, I have stayed at better for less.

Anyway we left because as nice as that place looked (garden looked lovely!), it was quite far from main Chaweng (would need taxi/ car/ bike hire to get any where). It would also mean our only eating option would be their restaurant. Overall, the receptionist had bad form so I give this a 2 without even trying it but seeing enough.

Baan Sukreep Resort was the first place I stayed on my 4 1/2 month travels around South East Asia and it was a fantastic start. Alain provided some great tips for Koh Samui and the lovely Thai staff made the visit even more pleasant. Definitely recommend staying here if you want to be sightly off the beaten track and stay in a place of tranquility.
