“Liked the place so much decided to stay with our caravan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2015

We have been visiting Lady Heyes on a regular basis for quite a few years because we have family on the Wirral, it's always been a great place for a day out. Fabulous quirky place with something for everyone.

When we got a touring caravan last year we decided to stay at the park. Our first visit in October was great, the layout of the park and the hard-standing are excellent.
We stayed there again this year for four nights from Easter Monday. The park was busy and bustling, but didn't feel too cramped and the facilities block is a great size to cope with everyone.

We had breakfast one morning in the Tea Cosy Cafe which was lovely, it's a very friendly little place, we also had lunch there on our last day, very tasty would recommend it.

We spent quite a few hours on our last day before we went home in and out of the wee shops, spent quite a bit of money on various things including beer from the wee brewery and one of my sons is now the proud owner of a pre-war gas mask! We really did have a fab time.

I hate to say anything negative but there was just a couple of wee niggles. The site toilet/shower block is fabulous and huge, but unfortunately the showers were not very good. The water was extremely hot and hardly sprayed out at all, it really just poured down beside the wall, because of this I was unable to wash my hair (I have long hair), this was the same back in October which I put down to end of season, but there was no difference last week. I did report it and have been assured that it's going to be looked into and the shower heads are going to be checked and maybe even replaced.
The one other wee thing was the new toilets near the Tea Cosy Cafe. It was great to hear that the old toilets were to be replaced because it was much needed, but I just wonder about the choice of design of the new ones. The frosted glass doors seem like an odd choice because it feels like you can be seen when inside, and also there seems to be a lot of wasted space.

Anyway, the whole of the Lady Heyes complex is well worth a visit and we'll definitely be back.

“First visit ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2015

My first time at Lady Heyes. Liked everything about the site. Just found one rude grumpy member of site staff, who shall not be named (TONY) oops. Shall be going back. Also going to try the pod experience. By the way the best fish and chips I have for a long time. JH

“Condescending, ill-mannered, and rude.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2014

I had a rather unpleasant experience in Cheshire Books, which is the sole reason for my 'poor' rating. The rudeness of the woman running/manning the shop on my visit (28 December) was quite something. After choosing my books, I smiled and handed over my money. Said woman looked at my Scottish £5 note as if I'd handed her a soiled handkerchief, waved it about, and snorted, asking if I had a 'proper' one. I simply stated at her in disbelief and repeated 'a proper one?!', to which she brusquely replied 'you know what I mean'. I politely informed her she could forget about it, which was met by yet another snort. My companions, who hail from Cheshire and are regular visitors of Lady Hayes, were shocked at her rudeness. I do not particularly want to get into a debate about the validity of Scottish sterling, but if you are not going to accept it, a polite notice would suffice. Up until that point, I had really enjoyed my visit - the shop has a lovely selection of books and is easy to navigate. But I left feeling, to be frank, rather hurt and looked down upon.
