“Very friendly and basic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Our experience with this hotel is short, as we arrived late, but were warmly welcome and explained with regard to whereabouts. The room was clean but very basic with simple furnishing and two beds attached together worked as a double bed. However, there is a supervised car park just opposite the hotel free for guests, which is a good point for the hotel. On farewell, we were given a bottle of wine, which was a nice gesture from the Staff. Generally recommended for a budget trip.

We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel - from he very beginning to the very end and we regret not to can stay at least one more night.

A highly professional welcome at the reception, followed by a well equipped, comfortable and cheap room and a great dinner with a really amazing service - the staff was always polite, smiley and with a real effort to do their job as excellent as possible. And they did! The free night tour to the Temple Valley was just a pleasure. Many compliments and continue to rise the tourist service standards in Sicily. Thank you!

Accommodation in Agrigento is a bit of a challenge so the Costazzurra is a great option. It is down towards the sea but close to the Valley of the Temples. Rooms are large and clean. Shower is small but useable. The restaurant is basic but the food solid and good - go for the grilled swordfish which is a winner. Eat dinner there and they throw in an evening tour to see the lit temples and set the compass for the place. Breakfast is free and includes eggs etc depending on the package. But the bonus is the staff - they are fantastically helpful, cheerful, and pretty much all have some English. Then there is the bonus bottle of wine at checkout. This is a place to aim for. Do not expect luxury but do expect terrific value (especially going via last minute portals) and just fantastic service.

We were treated like kings and queens by the hotel owners and staff. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel and for the first time on our 2 week trip the boys had leftovers! The owners and wait staff were very warm and friendly.

It is perfect to visit the Ruins and Temples in Agrigento. The price is also great. Clean, comfortable, not so far away of the Temples. Better to reach with a car. Breakfast and service was also great.

I'm not saying what we paid, but it was a bargain, Best hotel we have used on our trip in Sicily so far, Big clean rooms. Modern Hotel, Good internet, so using it right here to catch up, after our last so so place. Has pool, Parking, Helpful staff, Not too far from sandy beach, and supermarkets.
The Restaurant food, was Very good, i had a Swordfish , and my wife , an excellent Seafood risotto. Served by helpfil waiters. Tonight, we will be using their night bus trip around the roman ruins, so looking good, Worth 60 /70 euros , no problem.

The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Their English is very good. The owner's brother runs the restaurant and the food is excellent if you decide to "eat in". There are several restaurants and snack type places to eat within walking distance. The rooms were very clean and offer great views with a balcony. If you do eat in at least once during the day, then they take you on a night tour of the ruins while they are all lit up. You are also treated to a brief history during the short drive. It is a very nice and enjoyable tour. Drink some wine and enjoy the ride! The location is fantastic for access to all the sights in Agrengento. You are 10 minutes or less from the Museum and the different archeological sites.

Room Tip: If available, get a room that overlooks the ruins. :)
