“A memorable meal in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

A large group, friends and family, came together at this lovely spot to celebrate living and eating well. Our host was friendly with its patron and quite-famous chef, a far-larger than life character and a true charmer, so we got the very best treatment.

We had four main courses and two demi-courses. All were delicious, some surprising. The wine-list is extensive and not cheap. We all ate and dark very well for about 42 Euro, and I'd definitely go back, possibly overnight as the views from the village are to die for.

After lunch, don't miss a stroll to the church - surprises here too - and a walk up the hill to visit to the painted chapel, open on Saturdays at least through the summer. There are also super organ concerts and a festival of ancient music throughout July and August.

Room Tip: I'd say this establishment says it's a hotel, but in truth is a great restaurant with rooms...

My friend and I stayed for a full week in Le Viscos and we had a very warm welcome. They help you with what a cyclist needs. The restaurant was great, we really loved the food and we received every night a bowl of pasta extra for free because we were cyclists, we really appreciated that. When we wanted an early breakfast because we were participating in a cycle tour, we could get an early breakfast at 4.30 in the morning. There is a shed with a very good lock to store the bikes and a place to clean the bikes with water after a ride in the rain. Next to this Saint Savin is a lovely town with a great view over the valley. Next time we go cylcing in the Pyrenees we will certainly go back.

Room Tip: We had a great shower, which was perfect, much better than a shower in a bath which I do not like. I...

A first class hotel in the beautiful village of St Savin. The hotel was spotlessly clean and had a restaurant run by a chef of repute. However we felt that the chef went on a bit explaining each meal and pointing out the dishes we were getting for free.
All in all a great experience.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a large room and that you leave plenty of time to explore the village and visi...

This hotel is in a very small village in the middle of a lovely region.

The hotel is heated and airconditioned - necessary given it was 37 C the time we were there.

Unless you are used to small rooms I would select the largest room type possible.

We ate at the hotel and the chef was warm, helpful and very skilled.

A great stay.

A delightful small hotel we stopped in on a cycling trip across the Pyrenees. The hotel staff were really helpful rushing to wash cycling kit for 8 tired cyclists. In a lovely small village the food was first class. It is always a good sign when the restaurant is full of locals. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Worth a stop over for the food alone.
