“A wonderful place, full of charm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

We stayed in La Petite Clavelie for two nights and were really sad to leave! Yannick and Christian were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They made us feel very welcome. The whole place was beautiful and we really enjoyed looking at the old photographs of Christian's family that are displayed on the walls. We definitely want to go back again in future!

Walk into La Petite Clavelie and you walk back in time into an astonishing atmosphere of old world charm and romance, warm welcome and breakfasts to die for. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night. Yannick and Christian are perfect hosts, Welcoming you into their home, which dates back to and has been in Christian's family since the Revolution, as if you are part of the family. Peaceful serenity that is so difficult to find now days is all around. Everything on the breakfast table was home made in the traditional fashion and served in the traditional fashion and if you are lucky with the weather, served on the terrace. If you are looking for fast food egg and chips don't come here. Instead there were various country breads and homemade jams and honey. All set and laid in the traditional French country manner. The bedroom was spotlessly clean, again old style, but very comfortable bed. The T.V jarred a bit among the lovely traditinal furniture. You are welcome to wonder through the gardens at leisure. If you are seeking old world graciousness, charm and warmth then this is the place for you!!

Room Tip: All rooms are as good as one another.

I stayed here for 2 wonderful days!

I would like to share with everyone that the place is just a gem found in the countryside in the Dordogne area.

Great views surroundings are absolutely stunning! This B & B is the best place to go if you enjoy a quiet tranquil and serene place to relax and get stress-free!

Breakfast was wonderful and I could visit and walk for miles to see the surrounding countryside. It was a memorable and most enjoyable experience.

I would recommend this area to anyone who wants to see "le paysage"!.

I plan to return whenever I come back to the Dordogne region.

If you want a true French experience, in the true French manner, please visit here! A real French b&b invites you as almost a member of the family. Christian and Yannick are extraordinary hosts, who go the extra mile for their beloved guests. I first visited with them 6 years ago, and we are still corresponding. A wonderful rustic old property that has been in the family for over 200 years, and was completely restored by hand, and filled with local antiques. If you want a sterile modern environment, go elsewhere. This place, these people, are a treasure. Every room is a delight, the grounds are lovely, the location is quiet. And for romance, ooh la la!
