“Duplex room nice, staff & food spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

I booked this hotel using a groupon including a night's stay in a Duplex room, and dinner from the menu cocoon for 2 people, and breakfast. We almost didn't make it in time to get dinner as we were travelling across France after following the Tour de France. On arrival, the staff at the desk were extremely friendly and helpful, although their English was not completely fluent, but we managed to get all of our enquiries answered. The Duplex room was very nice, a higher standard than most other hotels we had stayed at, with 2 televisions, although no sports channels that we could find. There was a small toilet and living room downstairs, and a bedroom and large bathroom upstairs. The standard was good for a longer term stay or business stopover. There was wifi but it only worked in the lobby, and the staff helped me sign in to the better wifi instead of the obvious one. (Not all of the staff knew how to do this, but the girls on the desk did) We assumed the dining room and dinner menu would be of a similar standard to the room. How wrong we were! The menu is extremely fancy and one of the best meals we ate in France. The chef was lovely and the waiting staff helpful and spoke excellent English. On the menu cocoon you will receive amuses bouches, starter, main, then cheese or dessert, followed by petits fours. Being British, we chose dessert instead of cheese, but really regretted it after seeing the spectacular cheese trolleys being taken to other guests. We would choose cheese if we dined there again! It is a shame the location is out of the way, but it is definitely worth a trip if you are passing through the area.

Room Tip: I would highly recommend the Duplex Split Level rooms by the pool as you have a tv in the living roo...

We stayed a couple of nights a the Hostellerie La Poularde and it completely met with our expectations. The staff was welcoming, the room had a lot of charm and was well decorated. The highlight was the bathroom which was surprisingly spacious with a bathtub for two!
We also had lunch on Sunday at the Hostellerie's restaurant and enjoyed a delicious gourmet menu based on the best of French cuisine with a modern and contemporary twist. The wine was fantastic and the Sommelier advised us very well! We will definitely come back!

Hello,

We booked directly the Hotel.
The room DIANE (I am not sure) was perfect.
The meals (from 28 euros without wine) were succulent !
Everything perfect.
We were upgraded into a suite with a bathroom and a shower.

The railway station is very far from the hotel and when we arrived at 8 PM, there was no taxi !
So great...
