Mario is an amazing cook and he runs a very good B&B in the SE corner of Sicily. His aim is to provide a very good service and he succeeds. The B&B is very comfortable with spacious rooms (with aircon and heating, depending upon time of visit) and ensuite bathrooms with the three facing the garden opening on to a beautiful veranda. We were there in early May so ate in one of the bedrooms which had been temporarily converted into a dining room, otherwise it is outside. Our room with breakfast cost Euros50 per night and dinner was Euros20 each with wine at Euros10 a bottle so very good value. We were in the SE for 3 days specifically to check out as much of the Montalbano filming sites as we could find and the location for the B&B suited us well. It would be a good base also for Catania and Syracusa. The TV series does not promote the island well as it is far more beautiful than portrayed and was one of many surprises we encountered on our travels. Mario likes to practise his English. No WiFi, but he will direct you to a good local bar where it is free.
