“Moon on the see...no food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

The evening was so romantic so we went for dinner at la sirena because the terrace! The menu quite poor same for the menu of the day, the wine list had amaizing prices a bottle of Cerasuolo at 35 euros. 5 times the cost of it..we had spaghetti ai frutti di mare, insalata filucudara and terrific alici marinate whic was impossible to eat...
So shame it s great location..at list in this year when less visitors they could take care...., i m regular visitor in Filicudi but i can t take nobody ...no quality, only too expensive

“One of the best meals I've ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

The food and wine are spectacular. Everything from the beginning to the end was incredibly good. The ingredients are really fresh and the recipes are very original and absolutely delicious. I went there for a day while staying on another island and the trip was completely worth it. Plus the restaurant has a very nice terrace overlooking the crystal clear water of Filicudi. The owner speaks English and they also arranged for a car to pick us up and drive us back to the arbour. It's also possible to walk there from the arbour (about an hour walk or so) if one takes the mountain path rather than the asphalt road.

“Could do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

In the most idyllic location with wonderful simple bedrooms, this should have been one of the best places to stay. And it could be, however, the hotel is staffed by very charming, good looking but completely hopeless young men. We were staying at the end of the season and were the only guests and it struck us that the staff were more intent on enjoying themselves than looking after their guests. Breakfast was non-existant, unless you count yesterday's bread toasted with jam and coffee, or the ubiquitous creme filled croissant. We asked for some fruit, which never arrived - although one morning got a yoghurt! We ate dinner there once and this too was disappointing, although we did have a very good lunch one day - chose carefully. The new owner needs to get a professional manager in charge with a background in hotel / catering to bring some professionalism to the running of the place. That being said we actually loved our time there, Filicudi is a fabulously unspoilt island, with little to do but hang out - the restuarant on the port is wonderful (the other side of the island) is really nice (and has wifi the only place on the island that does). Would I go back, yes but would probably stay in an apartment rather than at the Pensione, it has a lot going for it, but needs to up its game for the prices it charges.
