“Good location but tired hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

The location of the hotel was excellent with the ski bus stop outside and a short walk to the gondola. However the room we had was very noisy both traffic noise and very little sound-proofing, so you could hear neighbours / guests upstairs talking and flushing toilets etc. The decor in our room was very dated and there was a large damp patch on the wall adjacent to the bath. The food was OK - breakfast was very bland and repetitive and whilst there were a number of choices in the evening - again the food was quite bland. The ski locker room was very small and not enough chairs or boot warmers. Overall, due to the combination of factors above, I wouldn't go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms so you don't hear people above you and not overlooking the main road.

We have had an amazing week in Campitello! We have had everything you would wish for an unforgettable family holiday with two little boys-great accommodation, snow, sun, good food,....
We would like to thank all the staff of the Grohmann, especially,Paolo and Elizabetta, for providing an excellent service, for all the attention and love to our children:))),for your hospitality and for creating a very welcoming atmosphere in the hotel!
The rooms are very clean, very warm, with nice views. The food is very good for a 3*hotel,waiters are working very hard.
I even think this hotel deserves one more star!
Would I go back? Yes,I certainly would!!!!!
Thank you very much,guys!Well done!

4 of us stayed at the Hotel Grohmann 12-19 Jan 2013 for a skiing holiday with crystal. We thought the hotel was in an excellent location for skiing - the ski bus stop was outside the hotel and the gondola a shortish walk away. The room was a good size and very clean with bath/shower and hairdryer. We overlooked the road so there was some traffic noise but not much and also the room temperature was pleasant rather than too hot and stuffy. Our friends had a room at the back overlooking the car park and unfortunately they did suffer from late night revellers which woke then up- not sure if it was guests on a balcony or a near by bar. The hotel staff were all very friendly and it had a relaxed atmosphere. The food was ok without being very exciting but it is a 3* and good value for the money. The boot room was down in the basement and a good size but not enough of the heated boot racks for everyone so maybe take some boot heaters if you have them. The other thing we noticed was the room keys (which are like a credit card) - we were encouraged to leave ours on a pigeon hole near reception but this just didn't look at all secure. The hotel has internet but you have to go down to reception to request a password and pay by the hour. Overall though we were quite happy with the hotel and had a very nice holiday.

Room Tip: we were 3rd floor overlooking the road - not too much noise whereas 3rd floor overlooking the car pa...

Hotel Grohmann was our base for Xmas skiing. Location is great, probably less than five minutes walk to the gondola in ski boots and there's a ski locker in the basement. Breakfast was fairly bland and didn't change much, dinner pretty good and the seven courses served on Xmas eve were fantastic. On the deal we were on you got a menu for the next evening so had to decide on dinner 24 hours in advance. Rooms are perfectly adequate for a ski holiday but seem to vary. We were initially in a small, rather dated room at the front with a shower but asked to be moved to a room with a bath. New room was enormous and was generally a higher standard. Heating is incredible, we slept with windows open most nights. Special mention to Elisabetta, the manageress, who was always smiling, always busy with two or three different tasks and always very helpful.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel 10-17 march 2012, very pleased with room we were given a family room with big bathroom and extra beds with plenty of living area. We requested a quite room in quite part of hotel and our wishes were adhered to. The breakfast was very bland and very much the same every morning the coffee was awful out of a machine, the evening meal however was very good with an excellent salad bar and good standard of meal with a gala meal on monday. The wellness centre was very good with sauna steam room and jacuzzi the ski room was adaquate and only 100mtrs from telecabin and bus stop outside the hotel. The hotel reception staff spoke very little english so it was very hard to communicate, so overhall a very good hotel and would recommend it.

Room Tip: rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter.

Just returned from a week's skiing with friends staying here. The hotel and staff were brilliant - really friendly and took time to get to know us. Great location and good food. We had a vegetarian in our party (I know) and the chef went out of his way to ensure she always had something a bit different from the normal veggie offering of an omelette. The rooms were very clean -thanks Alice - and plenty of space for a weeks stay even with all the ski clothing etc around. There was lots of hot water whenever wanted - not always the case on ski holidays. One strange thing, even though it was -15 degrees outside, with the radiators off and windows open I was still too hot to sleep under the quilt (how did they do that?). Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again - even the bar bill was a pleasant surprise.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back were quieter

We have just returned from a week long ski holiday based at the Hotel Grohmann and thought we should pass on a fair review of this hotel in contrast to some of the other comments already made by previous reviewers. We arrived late on Saturday night due to a baggage delay at Verona airport. We were very warmlly received by Elizabeth on reception. Despite being past 11pm we were served a hot meal by Luigi who we came to know along with almost all the staff at the hotel. In the morning we were shown to our table by the head waiter, Paulo, and shown how the restaurant operated as we were staying on a half board basis. This hotel is a perfect location for a skiing holiday being situated only 100m from the main lift in Campitello. In addition it is only 50m from the village centre with its shops, bars and restaurants. I would recommend Evitas for a drink and Bar Tirol next door for a meal. The hotel appears to be a 1970's design but is very well maintained, clean and friendly. I must thank our cleaner Alice who kept our room spotless during our stay. All in all i can certainly recommend this hotel if you are looking for an ideally located base which is warm, friiendly and comortable. I almost forgot to mention the free ski bus stops right outside. Perfect!

Room Tip: The hotel fronts onto the main road and is directly opposite the local church and its bells so best...
