Mohua Motel was a surprise gem in Golden Bay. We were expecting the usual motel accommodation but instead found our family unit (Room 4) was stylish and sophisticated. It felt like a great city hotel except it was in a rural and picturesque setting. The motel is new and has high spec furniture and fittings (flat screen TV, dishwasher, free broadband in room). The owners were really welcoming and accommodating after the long drive up and over the mountain to reach Takaka. The motel is right beside the Tourist Bureau and right in town. If you are visiting the Golden Bay area, we thoroughly recommend this motel.
