We had a cottage at the back, it was spotlessley clean, the rooms were lovely and comfortable with extra added touches, the only thing I was dissapointed in was that we ate in the hotel last night and paid £20 for a steak which was very dissapointing, for the price I would have expected better was very tough and chewey and over done.

Unfortunately, this was a flying visit,so we only had time to sample the food and a very comfortable
lounge. The food ordered came swiftly, and was of high quality and ample in proportions. The staff
are young, but obliging and efficient.Parking at the front of the hotel is not a problem, with plenty
of space.Although only slightly off the road, all rooms are quiet from any road noise. As a B&B,
i should imagine a lot of people, would be put off by paying over the £100 mark, but after all it is a
hotel.I will be calling there again, next time around.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to have equal comfort qualities.

This is a real home-from-home, cosy and comfortable. The food was great and the staff young and helpful. My cottage was beautifully and luxuriously appointed and the breakfast ample and the spare ribs (their signature dish) tasty. Going back again this weekend for a few days.

Room Tip: Go for the cottages at the back

At home is what we hope anyone feels here at the Oakeley and for some it really is their second home. There is nothing better than watching people walk in as strangers and leaving with new friends that they will return to see time after time.
Many thanks for your kind comments. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay here with us at The Oakeley and look forward to welcoming you here time and time again.

Stayed here in June with a group of friends, we had three cottages between us. We found all three cottages to be spotlessly clean and well equipped, with little extra touches that made us feel very special. We all decided that on our next visit we will bring our dogs as the cottages are perfectly set up for this. The main hotel has a cosy, comfortable feel, real ale on tap and reasonable pub food, in fact all that you need after a day walking. There are many walks from the hotel, however there is also the option of catching a bus which stops nearby. The service was fast and friendly with Chris and Ann Marie able to offer advise on the best walking routes, and Chris even accompanying us on a few of his favourite walks when time permitted. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing stay we look forward to seeing you again in October.

Many thanks for your feedback and we are so happy that you all had a great time.
I am sure Chris will squeeze in a few more walks and show you some more of the fabulous scenery we have here in North Wales. Have a look at our blog it may give you some ideas for doing something a little daring and different !!!
See you in October :)

This is listed on many sites are dog friendly, it isn't. I have been in contact and asked them to alter this on the various sites. But if you want to stay here with your pet, don't waste your time. They were quite happy to take payment on this premis but have agreed to refund. It's a shame there's a lot of mis advertising, intentional or not.

It saddens me to think that you would write a review without the details being accurate.

We do allow dogs in our self catering cottages but not in the hotel.

On our website it does not mention that pets are allowed in the hotel but if you go to the self catering cottages section , it does state here that dogs are welcome.

I contacted Laterooms who you made the booking with and I can see where the confusion has been and they have kindly altered it to state that pets are allowed in the cottages only.

There was no way of my being able to do this from my end previously as you have one box to tick and as we do allow dogs into the cottages , I ticked it.

As far as any other sites we pay for advertising , it is clearly stated when we place the advert that pets are allowed only in the cottages.

We cannot be held responsible for sites that we are not aware of.

We called as soon as the booking came in as you had made a special request for two dogs in the hotel.

We explained the situation and offered you a cottage. You asked for us to cancel , which we did.

At no time was any payment taken for this booking .

I would advise that you cancel the booking with Laterooms as the booking was made via them as the amount will be payable if not cancelled.

I did try and call you and left a message on your answer machine to try and explain this , but you have not returned my call.

Kind regards

Ann Marie

Just returned from am excellent May weekend break at The Oakeley Arms Hotel, there were 20 of us. Some stayed in the main hotel others in the self catering cottages. Both are very clean, comfortable and welcoming. All the staff were very friendley, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfasts set us up for the day and lovely evening meals to return to after a ramble in the area. There are plenty of areas in the hotel to sit and relax in the evning with a nice glass of wine. Make time to walk in the woods and around the coastal paths, all of which is on their doorstep. No need to use your car once there, the bus stop is outside the hotel also a short walk takes you to Ffestiniog Railway station, which I can recommend for a lovely scenic ride, Views are fantastic.
Thankyou Ann-Marie and Chris for making our weekend so enjoyable - we will return

We stayed at the Oakeley Arms on Easter Saturday. Friendly service and welcome. Very good pub food at reasonable prices. Our large room was a little old fashioned, but that was part of its charm. Bed very comfortable and breakfast good. Would definitely stay again.
