We stayed at Cae'r Blaidd (pronounce as English "K-eye-r Bl-eye-the", meaning "The Wolf's Field") in May 2009 and everything was excellent. It's a beautiful country house where exceptional attention to detail was paid to all aspects. Everywhere is spacious inside, there are attractive gardens, and there's fabulous views whether you're inside or outside! The breakfasts were generous and tasty, and the owners were particularly friendly and patient with the children. And all this at a price that was exceptional value for money (right down to the afternoon tea on arrival, which came with a fresh-baked whole loaf of Bara Brith and biscuits, which to our amazement turned out to be complimentary!).
Hidden away in the basement (in addition to the bar football game!) is a side to Cae'r Blaidd that you'd not think is there - there's a room full of outdoor activity equipment, as the owners also take bookings for a host of adventurous pursuits for those looking for a more strenuous break. There's even a little climbing wall.
Overall, Cae'r Blaidd is highly recommended.
