“Best location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

The hotel is located on the best location. It has a cluster of small shops and a famous coffee shop.
The station of the rope car is very near. Tomita garden is about ten minutes drive. We enjoy staying there.

Room Tip: The room that facing the Furano Town.

I recommend this hotel if you want to visit Furano:
http://www.natulux.com/index.php

First,my nationality was China instead of Taiwan on the information card the hotel gave me.In my opinion that was not polite.
Next, they offered me a smoking room instead of non-smoking.That wasn't what I booked.
Third, the hotel is far to reach though it has great view, the only merit.Besides, many places are charged in the hotel like garden, hot springs......
The above has already ruined my traveling mood.
Forth, the staff's English is very hard to comprehend.
Not over yet,I wrote my unsatisfied on the feeling card but no response till now.
Room rates are a bit high but still acceptable.
As for lunch or dinner, few choices but high price .
Last, while waiting for the bus back to Furano station, the staff told me to wait at the lobby, and the bus would come to the front door. That was bullshXX because actually the stop was at the cross street from the lobby. Thus,I missed it and the next one was two hours later.
To sum up,NIGHTMARE!!!!!The worst hotel I've ever stayed in Japan.

The good :
The hotel grounds are wonderful, like paradise. When you come in summer to escape the 35C days in Kansai, and have a good morning walk, it's like paradise. The flowering, forested grounds are extensive, with many walking paths. You can have a strenuous run or hourlong walk. It's great.
The onsen is lovely in a modern way. The outdoor pool (rotenburo) is really nice, but I don't know why they blocked the amazing view of Yotei-san from the onsen. Some architect doesn't like mountain views, I guess. The onsen hours are comfortably long, from early morning to midnight.
Our smokefree room was very comfortable. The 12th floor restaurants are luxurious with impeccable service -- with a Japanese style and French style restaurants. Food was good. Expensive, but not for onsen hotels. 23,000 yen for dinner for two with a little wine and beer. But tip and tax are included and the service, wow!
The bad:
While the room was smokefree, the hallway stank from both stale and fresh tobacco. A smokefree floor is necessary. The sink is in the room, not in the bathroom. Weird. The airconditioner doesn't cool the room enough. Of course, this is in Hokkaido, a cold place most months. Windows open a bit.
Facilities are dated. Color scheme is tired. Rooms are tired. Couldn't find CNN.
The lift up the mountain is overpriced for a 5 minute ride. Y1790. There's nothing up there. The trail should be developed for summer hiking. You can only walk around the lift area and above, but I was told there are fresh bear tracks and scat so avoid the further hiking. We wanted to hike and were told to drive 2 hours to Daisetsuzan. So we did, and the Asahidake mountain lift and walk around the Mt. Saint Helens type volcano was really great. Worth visiting there.
The bad and ugly:
Typical bad Western style breakfast. Worst sausage I've ever tasted. Runny eggs. If they only had an omelet bar! Stick to Japanese breakfast and you'll be more than fine. Coffee was good.
Without a rental car, I wouldn't recommend this place. Unless you're here to ski. With a car, with the ability to enjoy Japanese onsens, with their peculiarities, in a 1986 pre-Seibu group financial crash setting, and for the lovely gardens and nighttime walks and onsen, I'd give it a 4/5.

This is the 3rd time I stayed in this hotel. As other Prince hotel in Japan, there is a lot of leisure facilities. As I went in the peak season, I paid a high rate. However, the room layout is bad although it claims to be bigger than the standard room. The extra space goes to the corridor to the wash room. The buffet dinner used to be good but this time it disappointed me. Price went up. But it is not the key. There is less choice, quality not as good, taste too strong. The hotel is not close to the JR station. If you do not rent a car, you have to wait for the bus with schedule every one or two hour and by taxi at night. I would say it is not worth for money if the quality could not be maintained as before.

The hotel has nice surroundings including many activities. There is a bakery next to the hotel which is a good place for breakfast. There is an onsen onsite. The room is okay but smells moldy. They offer a free WIFI in the lobby only. The gift shop is pretty big and has a lot of souvenir items.

Most tourists stay here in winter. But we weren't sure about summer. Highly recommended. Its inconvenient in summer as you've to take hourly public shuttle bus (260 yen one way). But the Hotel grounds are worth a visit. The flower gardens, hot spring onsen, shop selling local produce, famous Ningle terrace selling crafts from hobbyists. Hot air balloon. Skip the famous baked milk in summer.

If you're staying here and not driving, take the coach from Sapporo instead of JR train especially if you've large luggage. I came in summer and had to ponder how to fit my luggage into the tiny shuttle. We left them at the overnight lockers in train station.

We stayed one night at Natalux and the other night in New Furano Prince Hotel.

Great location although a bit far out. Buses and taxis are available. Lots of nice walking paths en route to bar, cafe outside the main building. Nice bakery at the back which provides even hot soups apart from bakery items. Helpful friendly staff providing good service. Rooms have these huge windows overlooking unusually tall trees. Overall highly recommended.
