“Great food too much philosophy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

The food and atmosphere were great but ended up engaged in a lecture (not by choice) with the owner. Im sure he meant well but it sort of made the experience a little less enjoyable. I would definitely return for the great food and purchase some more delicious sauces.

“we go here *frequently*”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

it's possibly THE most fascinating restaurant in the area. big, hearty portions of really good food - the pulled pork and the sausages are *delicious*. lots of antique collectibles all over the place, little games to play on the tables while you wait for your order, a great view of the syrup operation, and gorgeous back decks lavishly decorated with flowers. there is nothing like enjoying a big cup of delicious coffee or tea on a swinging bench under tall pines while listening to the wind and the birds. it's a gorgeous place for a wedding - lots of arbours.

the front of the building is a small shop where you can buy any amount of lovely sauces, pickles, syrups, and preserves ranging from sweet and mild all the way up to five-alarm hot.

the Dawsons are a lovely family - they're so nice and personable. if you have a half-hour or so to spare, ask Tom about the story behind his products. he's very knowledgeable about his business and it's a real inspiration to hear him talk with such passion about his travels.

“Best breakfast, BBQ, Sauces & Catering in Ontario”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Only open weekends in the summer for pancake type breakfast. All home made cooking even the sausage, baked beans, bread and 100's of home made BBQ & kitchen sauces. Tom Dawson, his lovely wife Dianne, daughter Kate & son Ryan staff the operation and provide excellent service. The have huge BBQ's on wheels for a catered event anywhere. I recently used them for a pig roast at my lake house for 90 people and it was fantastic. The food was perfect. Can only say great things about their Wintergreen Barn and the catering side.
