“Excellent Value for Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

Childow Tavern may well be a little off the beaten track for many, but it is certainly worth the drive - not only for the drive itself, which is very pleasant, but the food and service when you get there. This is not a flash pub by city standards, but that is what we loved about it. It has that authentic country feel, even though it is within an hour of the centre of Perth City. From the moment you step into the dining area, you know you have entered something that is as Australian as Vegemite. The food is very tasty, the service is friendly and natural, the staff are full of smiles and catering for dietary needs is done with a minimum of fuss ... and all at a very reasonable price. The mix of diners when we were there was varied - families with kids, young adults and older couples and all seemed very much at home. This is a good, honest, what you see is what you get sort of place and it did our heart (and stomachs) well to enjoy an evening out at this great piece of Western Australian history.

“Quality food, historic setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

When you enter the Chidlow Tavern you find a panorama of historical photographs showing the great days of when this was an important steam locomotive stop for the interstate railways.

Nowadays the Tavern is a delighful drinking sport and provides great quality food in a congenial environment. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is great.
