“Our water supply”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

It still is a sight to behold when you walk out onto the weir itself. Go to the other side and walk up the steps and read how it was built and by whom. Another engineering feat. The icecream van is there on weekends after 11am to sell soft serve icecream, nice little treat after walking through the gardens.

“Good trail walks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

The area is best in winter. We hike there regularly. The Mundaring Weir pub is good for food and cold beers. Good walking trails and great facilities if you want to bbq or picnic.

“Go for a drive, its worth it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Winding roads and a lovely bush setting. A view at every turn. Love the town of Mundaring. The spring offers the best time to visit with wildflowers but the concerts at the Weir Hotel pretty darn good too. ps take socks, gloves and a blanket, it gets mighty cold up there.

“Fancy a drive to the Hills?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

A Weekend trip to the Hills in Spring (or any other season for that matter) is one of the good old traditions. And Mundaring Weir is a must if you haven't been there before. There is a lot of amazing history there, I would suggest to check out Golden Pipeline website http://www.goldenpipeline.com.au/00/index.shtml , but just walking on the top of this dam is something! It is part of our "Best of Perth" for our overseas visitors, but don't look to the West if you have a fear of heights. There are BBQ facilities and you can come from the south side or from the north side of the dam - I personally prefer the north side. It is a shame that water levels are falling and falling, but it is still a very impressive sight.
