“Just drove along it to Kalgoorlie”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2012

If I had the time I may have pulled in along the way to see in more detail, just marveled at it's length out the window for the 600km journey

“Look and learn about Western Australia's fascinating early history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2012

If you get the book and CD put out by the National Trust your trip will be greatly enhanced by all the very well presented back ground information. This is a long trail, from the hills of Perth, to kalgoorlie, but well worth it if you love to hear about and see one of the highlights of WAs history right up to the excitement of present day mining and gold in kalgoorlie.

“Important history of WA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

Great walks, well laid out and very interesting facts tracing WA's water pipeline & water supply history. It is amazing the achievements of this era.

“Do it and be amazed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2011

Hats off to the National Trust of Western Australia for making the trail happen. Well for us Brits the 560 km from Mundaring weir in the Perth hills to Mount Charlotte in Kalgoorlie could be daunting but it is worth it. The pipeline and associated heritage sites are the most amazing tribute to human ingenuity and persistence. When CY O'Connor had the idea to pipe drinking water from Perth to Kalgoorlie in the 1890s I doubt he would believe that in 2011 the pipeline still serves the same function. Along the trail you visit lost townships where the hunt for gold has come and gone, extraordinary dams built to catch each precious drop of water (Merredin and Karalee particularly interesting), and changing landscapes.

“Cunderdin No 3 Pump Station & Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2011

Returned from Kalgoorie to Perth following the Golden Pipeling Trail. The museum was excellent. $3 entry and free drink. Our guide was very knowledgable and informative. The social history well presented and the Meckering Earthquake House and experience we will not forget. If you make one stop on the Great Eastern Highway make sure it is this one.
