“I hated to leave”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We booked the hotel online and really didn't know what to expect. It was an easy walk from the train station. We were greeted warmly by English speaking staff at the front desk ad given the key to our room on the fourth floor. The room was fine, clean, neat and functional but when we opened the shutters....spectacular view and sea breeze! The staff were helpful and attentive and we were delighted by the daily breakfasts which included unlimited cappuccinos and hazelnut croissants! Cereals, fresh fruits, assorted pastries and a hot breakfast were also available if desired. We lingered at breakfast each morning, taking in the lovely views and chatting to new friends from Denmark and Dublin. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and the Medieval City. Restaurants, cafés, street vendors and shops were all an easy, pleasant, cobbled street stroll away. The staff were helpful and tolerant of our terrible Italian. They made suggestions and booked us a car to get back to Rome for an early morning flight. I highly recommend the Astura Palace Hotel for a pleasant business or vacation stay with reasonable rates and breakfasts included.

This family run hotel was in a great location right across from the beach/harbor. It was only a very short walk to the beach.. It was also a short walk to the old town and central city. We rolled our luggage from the train station in an easy 5 minute walk. Beautiful views from the balcony of the breakfast room. The hotel was very clean and all the staff very pleasant. It is very suitable for a relaxing few days away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Highly recommend it.l

Room Tip: The rooms to the front of the hotel were the only one with a view.

The hotel was in a great location right across from the beach/harbor. It was only a very short walk to the beach and a fantastic gelato shop (igloo). It was also a short walk to the old town and central city. We rolled our luggage from the train station in an easy 5 minute walk. Beautiful views from the balcony. Very clean and all the staff were friendly. Breakfast was very nice and on the top floor with a great view.

Room Tip: ask for a beach view

After a busy day sightseeing in Rome we decided to head towards the coast, we headed for Anzio but it was quite busy when we arrived so carried on along the coast. Next town was Nettuno it was quieter and looked to be a nice area. We stayed in the Astura Palace for one night, check in was easy and the receptionist very helpful, lending me the money to park. The room was modern and spotless, with free WiFi it was good to catch up with emails. The room had a small balcony with a sea view overlooking the marina. The hotel was well placed to visit the old town and the town centre. Breakfast was in the restaurant on the upper floor, the breakfast was good quality and the views lovely. It seemed pretty quiet, I guess it must have been the end of season.

Room Tip: Sea View was excellent.

The rooms are comfortable. They have internet (but bring your own cable) and Sky on the TV. I asked the first two days if wifi was working and I don't think it ever did during my stay. Something happened and I had only cold water in the showers late one evening. By the next morning they had figured it out and I had warm water again, fast maintenance. The breakfast is typical Italian with meats, bread & butter, some fruit, yogurts, and small cakes. Coffee delicious. The hotel staff was very friendly to me the four nights I stayed. It's in the center of Nettuno and within walking distance of almost everything.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

We stayed in the Astura Palace Hotel for one night to be close to the American Cemetery as well as close to Fiumicino Airport on our last night in Italy. The staff at the hotel was very accommodating. We booked two rooms and requested that they be next to each other and the staff worked very hard to make this happen (they opened up half of a suite (2 bedrooms and a bathroom to make this happen). We had 5 people though and upon realizing that we couldn't get a rollaway bed for the fifth person as we thought, the staff opened the last half of the family suite for us free of charge. The rooms had several problems though that made our stay very uncomfortable:
The beds were very hard
The air conditioner was ridiculously loud to the point where it was hard to sleep
There was a constant banging and shuffling of feet from the room above us at night
The air conditioner gauge was broken in one room (fortunately it was stuck on high)
The rooms require a key card to have power, so we couldn't keep the air on when we left, making the room hot
The shower in the bathroom was nice but designed poorly
We had no view, we saw into some apartments across the street and the street below

Overall, this isn't a bad hotel at all. The bathroom was huge and modern and the entire room was clean. Had we had a view of the water from the front side of the hotel and a better air conditioner our stay would have been a lot better. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, which is very convenient and was good, and the location of the hotel in Nettuno can't be beat. It was a few steps away from the main square with several restaurants and even live entertainment on our night there and was very close to the American cemetery (less than a 5 minute drive). Overall, this hotel was alright for a one night stay.
