“So far so good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013 via mobile

So far so good. Super large and clean room. Maintenance being done all over the resort. Helpful and smiling staff. No problem at check-in. Our lost bag from delta flight delivered directly to our room. Fantastic beach and plenty of beach chairs and towels. I have no idea about the pools - i don't fly 6 hours to hang out by the pool. As for the restaurants, no comment yet as we've been eating off the hotel property. One issue so far - happy hour drinks don't include any beachy drinks, just regular bar stock. I guess i'll have to make them myself in my very well-equipped kitchen. Got to go use the blender. C u.

The Marriott is perfect for the traveler who wants comfort and convenience in one package. There may be other hotels on the island that are more quaint and personal. You can still get that feeling at the Marriott with multiple pools, bungalows that are away from the main hotel building, and intimate high quality restaurants that serve very good food. If you don't want to stay on property to eat, a number of top rate restaurants are within a short walk or drive of the resort. Another benefit of a resort this size is the opportunity to meet and make friends with people from all over the world to share meals and activities with. The staff are attentive and addressed issues that we had quickly. We will stay there again and would feel comfortable taking our children there as well.

Room Tip: The rooms in the buildings outside the main hotel are larger. The ones on the "backside"...

As the best place to stay on St Kitts, the Marriott needs some work to stay on top. The hotel overall needs some dressing up. The rooms are tired, and the double bed rooms have very small double beds, not kings or queens like most other Marriotts. The pool is ok but could be cleaner. The decorative pools around the grounds are sickening....full of debris and scum. The restaurants are ok with the Italian being the best. Service desk person ell seem in-caring, and not interested in your needs. Marriott needs to step in and look at hotel to see if they feel it is up to their standards.

Room Tip: Ocean view 5th floor only.

Having previously stayed at this resort when it first opened, I was anxious to return. The check in process was a disaster since the computers were down and several groups were checking in. We were among the lucky ones to get a room assignment in 45 minutes, possibly because of our platinum status, some were waiting three hours. The rooms were immaculate and well appointed with luxury bedding and every amenity, however the rooms are not sound proof and noisy neighbors could affect your experience.
The grounds are well cared for and the facility overall is absolutely beautiful. We received excellent service from staff members for the duration of our stay. Now to the negatives. There is a 12.5% shared gratuity on everything that is purchased and in the spa an additional 10% hotel tax. It is also suggested that an additional individual gratuity be added if the service warranted it. With the already inflated prices , this means that the $27 per person breakfast buffet is approaching dinner prices. I recommend staying away from the name restaurants and eating off property or at the Cafe Calypso. The cafe has an all day menu with drink service for a very reasonable price. Another alternative is the pizza shack, which has an excellent selection of delicious pizzas and wraps but only open until 6 PM.
In the middle of the week another group checked in. This brought another dimension to getting a table or a seat at the bar.
Paradise? Yes. But a very costly adventure.

Room Tip: Garden house 11 first floor pool view was an excellent choice. It was close to everything .

Stayed in a Garden View Room with a disappointing view of the main building. Everyone smiling, ready to assist and very accommodating. Staff in on site restaurants and bars went beyond what I expected. Everyone was very helpful. Plenty of activities and excursions available. Beds were fantastic and very comfortable. Purchased the all-inclusive package - it made dining simple but all the alcohol included could make a grown man cry. I heard many people comment on how dangerous drinking with no limits can be. And one of our traveling party actually said "I'll never drink Carib (a local beer) again!"

All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable trip.

Can't wait to do it again next year.

Room Tip: No elevators in garden view rooms - ask for 1st floor. Ask for room away from pool areas as they ten...

My wife and I stayed at the resort for 9 days. It is located a quick 10 minutes from the SK airport on the Atlantic side of the island. Our room was spacious and very nice overlooking the pool area toward the beach. We had a little trouble with enough hot water for a day and half but the staff quickly moved us into a comparable room; once in the new room there was no further hot water issues. The resort personnel were friendly and helpful; their response to matters were very good. The breakfast buffet was great; other speciality restaurants were also good but a little pricey. Pools were nice; Atlantic waters were a little rough. Resort is located a short drive to the Royal St Kitts Golf Club if interested in some golfing. We used the resort as a base from which we ventured out around the island to view various sites. Would definitely recommend and likely will return in the near future.

Never Again! One disappointment after another - where do I start? Rooms not ready, suite promised with no air conditioning, the hotel computer system down which required all manual entries and carrying hardcopies of all the reciepts - BTW two weeks later and the system is still down and still awaiting final billing - Im sure that will be a mess, forget about asking room service for anything like: towels, soap etc which were never replaced when the rooms was finally cleaned. The property is showing its age, paint chips, 1 of 2 pool bathrooms out of order that they worked on with chipping hammers during prime time - not exactly what I wanted to listen to while trying to relax , Talking to the front desk was a complete waste of time - they dont care. Signed - Never again Marriott Platinum Member.
