First of all I knew that this was a two-star hotel and read some of the reviews here and i must admit that i was very sceptic about this hotel. However, I ended up being quite pleased with our stay here. My family and I stayed here Nov. 2013 and there were not that many guests, so i really can't say anything about the noise level as some people have complained about. During our stay the level of noise was quite low. Also i expected the hotel to be "worn" and not very well kept (form reading reviews). Yes, the hotel appears to have been used a lot, the apartment furniture was not contemporary, etc. but everything was working and clean.
Apartment: The apartment was big and clean and we were lucky enough to have quite a nice view overlooking the sea and cliffs at Los Gigantes, despite our apartment being on the 1. floor. There was no aircondition (ceiling fans in all roms), but it was not needed during our stay. The beds were a bit "springy" (you could feel the coils) but overall the beds were ok.The kitchen was equipped with all basic utensils and necessities. The bathroom could use some more shelfes as the area to put your stuff on was quite limited. If there is something negative to say about the apartment it is the lack of electricity outlets near the nightstands. So if you need electricity for sleeping-equpment (e.g. CPAP) remember to bring a 3-4m extension cord. In my case the reception staff were very kind and lended me an extension cord.
Restaurant: We had breakfast, dinner and supper included. Keeping in mind the two-star classification, the food in the buffet was acceptable. Breakfast was better than expected. Dinner and Supper, so and so. But, there was allways two main dishes to choose from and the quality of the food was acceptable.
Hotel facilities: The pool areas were nice. Especially the roof-top pool-area. However, the sunbeds and parasols were a bit worn. The roof-top pool was cold, but had a lot of sun and a spectacular view (can be windy). The lower pool is heated in the winter (nice) but there are not that many seats around it. The areas were kept quite clean...ive seen worse in hotels with higher classification. On the negative side was the price for WIFI: 5 euros/day !! 1euro/hour!! I did try it for a couple of ours and the reception and signal strength was very good.
Staff: The reception staff were very polite and helpful and allways nice and friendly. Thumbs up for this. The restaurant staf were also nice. I guess because of the low season they weren't that many and they weren't stressed out. So in general they were nice - except one of the waitresses. She woud ask about your room-number and the proceed to turn her head away like she couldn't be bothered. And she was allways mumbeling something in spanish while she was walking over to you just before she would say "What would you like to drink, sir". I don't speak spanish that much, but by the look on her face it did not sound nice (she could have been swearing...).
Area: The hotel is not near the beaches or harbours and you need to walk quite a bit on steeply inclined roads (going down easy...back up, not so much). Can be a little tough for the kids and elderly There were some shops and an ok supermarket in the vicinity. Luckily there is a bus-stop right outside the hotel and getting around the area is nice and easy - even on a budget.
Final verdict: I expected a lot worse but ended up with quite a nice stay the price considered.
Consider paying extra for a room/apartment with a view. It is fantastic.

We didn´t have this kind of observation from other customers so far, do not know who can you refer but I'm going to have a meeting with the restaurant staff for it.
