“Very basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We were in a room on the ground floor. I didn't like it. The bed was so uncomfortable, very thin walls. We had HB , the food was basic but with enough of a selection. We didn't use the pool but looks dirty... The staff were very pleasant. Good location - a few minutes from the bus stop and playa Arena. For the really cheap price what we paid was OK. Value for money but would I stay here again - I didn't think so...

The staff were friendly... HOWEVER...

This is the worst hotel I have been to. When we first got to our room and opened the door there was a dirty ear bud on the floor right by the door.. the floor had not been cleaned as it was filthy! our towels were only changed twice the whole week we were there! and the sheets were not changed once and had stains in and holes. The beds were also extremely uncomfortable.
The bathroom was full of limescale, it was terrible.

The food was terrible.. we tried not to eat there and went to the irish bar down the road which was very good.

The pool area was not good, there was music which we liked, but the pool itself was dirty and had a layer of grease on the top.. suncream? it was not cleaned and in the evening when you went down for 'dinner' there were pigeons bathing in it!!

There were a lot of cats around the hotel which I didn't mind as I have two cats.. they were very tame and spend most of their time under the bushes in the shade.

The location was good with shops, bars and cafes in walking distance, with the beach also.. (about 10-15 min walk) however I wouldn't recommend the beach due to the sand being black which attracted the heat and made it impossible to lie or stand on!!

Overall the hotel rooms are ok, a bit small but cleaned every day. The staff in general are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is situated about a mile walk from the main resort which does not really have a lot to offer apart from a few gift shops and a couple of places to eat, check out Highland Paddies for some good evening entertainment and the Blarney stone for good food at reasonable prices (13 Euros for a fillet steak with pepper sauce, steak was huge!) back to the hotel..... Evening entertainment was a complete joke!! A snake show, an eagle show suitable for kids that started at 11.20pm? Another evening featured a belly dancer.... yawn! As for the music quiz?? No Comment!!!! The food was probably the worst I have ever had as as an all inc package, often cold with such poor choice that after 3 days we ate out!! I am not a serial complainer and believe in being fair. This hotel would suit couples with no kids looking for quiet week away and early to bed!

Room Tip: We faced the sea and that was nice as the evening brings a welcome sea breeze

Rooms are basic but all needed is incide. All with seaview.
TV without russian channels. The only thing that we did not like very thin walls, noise from neighbors (hear when people return, go to shower, snore...)
Free WI-FI on reception.

Good location - not far from playa La Arena in a quiet place Puerto de Santiago. If you are looking for night life better to go to Las Americas.

Stuff very very nice, kind and polite, with any questions every time ready to help.

Food. We had HB, breakfast samely (cheese, sausages, eggs, yogurt, fruit, dried fruit, biscuits), dinner more varied (paella, pasta, fish, meat, various vegetables and fruits, salads, national dishes). All food very tasty and fresh, especially we liked soups and fish.

Every evening were small shows (dance, songs, parrot show) but my Mom doesn't speak English therefore we didn't go.

We liked very much. If you are looking not expensive calm rest it is your place.

Room Tip: 1st floor - 2 rooms, entrance from swimming pool side through living room to bedroom (with small win...

This hotel needs a good refurb to call itself 3 star. We've come away feeling dirty and wont return to Tenerife because of this bad experience sadly.

As one reviewer has already stated "you get what you pay for". This was a cheap holiday for self and partner mid April 2013. Didnt realise there was no lift (asked for a high room for privacy - got room on 2nd floor). All of the amenities in the room were functional but looked as if running repairs are the order in this low-staffed hotel - every day there was someone painting over cracks, sticking tiles back on etc. The bath in our room had definitely been damaged and just painted over (which was peeling off). Doors slam shut too - no buffers, so at all hours we were woken by people coming back to their rooms and slamming doors :(

Food was very basic and although plenty of veg available if you were vegetarian there wasnt much protein to eat. We went half board and managed to fill up at lunch times at the lovely bars all along near the beach so that we didnt bother so much with a meal in the evening - you would definitely lose weight here if full board.

Room Tip: Higher floor are more private - with balcony but no lift. All rooms appear to overlook the noisy poo...

We have just come back from a great week this hotel on all inclusive. We had a nice twin room on the top floor, it had separate living area and bedroom with good storage and comfy beds, balcony with lovely pool and sea view. No kettle or fridge in room so we took a travel kettle no problem. Supermarket and sea right outside, mostly rocky coastline but lovely black sand beach 10 mins down the road. Beautiful mountain scenery. Hilly area and no lifts so maybe not so suitable for disabled guests to get around, although you can book a ground floor room which open out to poolside area. Good choice of food and drinks, friendly staff, nice bar, average entertainment. 10 mins walk to main resort area with plenty of souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. We liked Highland Paddys bar with sports, karaoke and singers every day. Lovely coastal walk to nearby Puerto Santiago and Los Gigantes and harbour where u can get a boat to see the whales and dolphins, recommended. Good value hotel

Room Tip: For great views book a higher floor but if you have disabled or elderly guests book ground floor
