Stayed here for 3 nights earlier this month. The welcome at the reception desk was somewhat cold but thereafter the same reception staff were most helpful & friendly up to and including our departure.
We found the apartment to be spacious - larger than your average apartment in an aparthotel - clean and comfortable. The kitchen, which appeared to have been totally re-fitted recently, had all you could need for a self-catering break, including a microwave which in our experience doesn't always come as standard. Air conditioning units (which again in our experience aren't always installed in aparthotels) in both the living room & bedroom came in handy (a €10 refundable deposit was required for the remote control, as for the TV remote).
We'd booked on a half-board basis, so our first chance to check out the food came at evening meal. The food was fine...more than edible...with a fair variety on offer. Dining room was tastefully decorated. However it did appear that the aparthotel wasn't exactly bursting at the seams with clientele. We were the first to appear in the dining room and only once we finished our meal did another 4 people appear. Breakfast was equally fine if only for a lack of yoghurts (don't mean to be picky!). Again, guests were thin on the ground - 12 people at most. The biggest surprise came for us upon entering the dining room for evening meal on Sunday. The serving trays were empty! The waitress went on to explain to us that the other guests we'd seen were only booked for Friday-Sunday stays and as a result we were the only guests left for evening meal. The meal itself - we were given a choice of two salads & two main courses and which was covered in the standard half-board rate we'd been given - was quite simple but very tasty. Buffet breakfast on the morning of departure was laid out as normal......just for us!
All the guests that we encountered during our stay appeared to be locals. In our experience the lack of foreign tourists may well be explained in part by the location (a small local beach, no family-centred tourist attractions when compared to the north & south of the island. It must be remembered that this zone probably attracts tourists purely due to it's proximity to the Los Gigantes cliffs, and as a result will attract a different type of tourism). However the hotel does itself no favours by having it's on-site facilities either closed (sauna, jacuzzi, gym, pool-bar & lounge bar) or in poor condition (swimming pool/sun loungers).
So, in summary, an aparthotel where the staff on the ground are doing their best but where the management either haven't got the funds to keep the advertised on-site facilities open (come to think of it, we didn't see the on-site supermarket either) or aren't interested. A pity.
