Just back from a weeks stay. Deliberately didn't pay a lot this time from choice, and having read some of the reviews we were a little concerned. What a pleasant surprise. Clean, plenty staff, pleasant staff, nice pool area, good food served at breakfast, lunch and dinner, good bar service, good quality booze, nice clean pool area and facilities, games room and acceptable daytime activities.
Yes, the cups are paper cups, can't say it bothered me. The entertainment in the evening is variable. Some loved it but I would prefer never to watch it anywhere. There is no booking sun loungers which is great, and a fairly orderly queuing system is operated with access grated to the pool area at 9am. Works a treat.
Rooms ok, clean and well furnished. Nice balcony, beds comfy enough with camp bed for third guest. Balcony spacious with good pool view in our case.
All in all, go without concern, I'm not sure we're some of the bad press on here comes from, although clearly individuals have different views.
The resort is an odd place. Some really pleasant paved coastal walks, little secluded beaches and rocky coves, and a few bars, cafes, restaurants. The saltwater lido is excellent and can be accessed free for guests. I can't decide whether the resort is just about to go massive, or whether folks have run out of money and its on its way down. Lots of shops and bars etc closed and boarded. Several half built (and clearly stopped being built) premises, one a substantial hotel.
Just up the road from the hotel you have a couple of English bars, best the Britannia, so your ok for your fix of Carling, John Smiths and a full premiership programme. Across the road there is a good supermarket with cash machine and very cheap beer if you fancy a change from the all inclusive which is perfectly ok, by the way.
Only did one trip which was to Siam Park water park, which is astounding and highly recommended. Get the bus from outside the hotel door to door, save a fortune on the trip price.
A nice week, would do again.
