“Beautiful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2007

I stayed here for three nights with my partner in November. This was such a nice place to stay, it's a beautiful chateau and our room was lovely. great breakfasts and the hosts were so friendly and helpful- gave heaps of tourist advice for exploring the loire region. Located only a five-ten minute drive from the centre of Tours. This was such a great place to stay and I would definately come back.

we are a family of 4 and stayed in the lodge. we chose the lodge as it looked nearer the swimming pool (which it is) but the kitchen is tiny so if you enjoy cooking you may be a little disappointed. when i cooked there was only room for me in the kitchen ! that said plenty of pots/pans etc but they were located in the dresser in the dining room/lounge - so not very handy
we had a look at the cottage whilst we were there and the kitchen is huge with a separate laundry room and dining room, but only one bathroom, and we had 3 to choose from in the lodge.
the 4th bedroom is really only suitable for children. i would say the lodge is very suitable for 2 families as 2 bedrooms and bathroom and shower room on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms and ensuite and bathroom on the 2nd floor. but cooking would be challenging, however very good restaurants close by (but car needed). you can cycle to the boulangerie quite easily though.
we would go again, but as there are only 4 of us we would take the cottage next time, a litle further away from the pool - but not too far and a better kitchen.
Gil & Elizabeth the owners - very friendly, will provide badminton rackets etc, dvds. a few swimming pool rules (no eating/drinking) which we got used to, but didn't quite understand why they were necessary. virtually had the swimming pool to ourselves, which was large and deep - great for swimming/diving.
playground for younger children, and big space for football etc for older children.
tennis is available in the village (hard courts) and about 15mins away by cycle
good base from which to explore the delights of the loire
