Description: We are a warm friendly Real Ale 16C Pub with atmosphere and a 17C Barn for your idyllic private party or Wedding. We offer a seasonal menu cooked from fresh produce. It's the small personal touches that makes us different. The homemade baking, preserve and chutney making, cooking & garnishing with foraged fruits from our own land and local surroundings. The use of vegetables and imagination in the preparation of our vegetarian dishes. There is something for everyone: Snacks, Open Sandwiches, Soups, Manly meat dishes and Ladies lunches, Veggie & Salads, Fish from the Kent Coast & Children's Menu serving real food.

“Fine beer and fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

A large country pub with well presented ales and an excellent menu with a bar section and a dining area. The Barn is an annexe. There is a garden to sit out in. In winter a large log fire warms the two bar rooms

“Fantastic wedding venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Just returned from a wedding at this venue. Friendly staff with a beautiful location. Only gripe was the slightly higher than expected drink prices.

“Nice country pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

The Plough is a great country pub just outside Leigh in a lovely country location. We have eaten here a number of time and the food has always been great. I live in Tonbridge and on a nice sunny day it's great to walk here through the country path that runs by Barden Lake.

“Friday Lunchtime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Been past many times but today was the first time we have been inside, very large car park and the "oldie worlde" interior, pork was very nicely cooked and came with a delicious pepper sauce, scampi was also very nice salad was fresh and crunchy, I did not have dessert but GF had warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream that I am told was very nice, she did not save me any !!!
I had 2 pints of Harveys which very very nice, staff friendly was very busy for a Friday lunchtime a sure sign they must be done something right, will be back for some more soon

“Lovely setting but slightly disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We went to The Plough for a family celebration. The setting was lovely and we were eating in the restaurant not the carvery. The starters were all excellent (the goats cheese and salmon/prawns were very good) however the mains were very average. A medium rare steak that was definitely well done, liver that, to my taste, was virtually raw and I really like offal but ate hardly any. However desserts were also very good. The gardens were lovely and I think that this would be a great place to come with children on a nice Saturday to have a pub lunch (ploughmans, sandwiches etc) but I wouldn't go back to the restaurant.
