We booked our excursion through Thomsons, quite pricey for a half day, but had a fabulous time.
Picked up by coach behind our hotel we were taken to the lovely area of Puerto Calero to pick up the catamaran. Getting on took a while as they take your photo as a souvenir, which we expected to cost a fortune later! Once all on we were on our way following the coast to the Papagayo area at the south of Lanzarote. Our crew, all excellent, made the short trip fun and exciting. Kids were given bandanas to wear and their faces painted like pirates. The bar was open serving soft drinks, beer, wine and a lovely champagne cocktail and everyone kicked back on the nets soaking up the sunshine and atmosphere. Once anchored up the snorkelling gear was laid out, the slide into the sea positioned and the jet ski unloaded. I took my son on his first ever go and he loved it! An instructor drives you, but he was funny and gave us a great quick ride. Children of any age can go as long as they're accompanied by an adult. The sea was quite chilly, but the slide down is the quickest and best way for those wanting short sharp shock!!
Lunch consisted of pasta, sauce, salad and bread. A staple diet but it was tasty and filled the gap in your tummy, drinks as mentioned above available during the entire trip.
Sailing back was relaxing and fruit was offered, as well as more face painting.
The crew were excellent. Forgive my ignorance at not remembering his name, but the English chap was funny and gave all announcements in such a numerous way we were laughing the whole way. I wasn't sure hat to expect on this trip, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I would definitely recommend as an excursion. Not cheap for sure, but very enjoyable.
Ps...when we got back our photo was ready. 5 euros made it worth the purchase for a great memory.
