Stayed October 2007, a really nice place with a good mix of nationalities. We stayed on a half board basis, the food was pretty good, all buffet service but excellent choices every evening. Food quality was equal to the hotel rating, staff were friendly if sometimes over-worked. Pool area was immacualte, the spa, reception first rate.
Hardly anything to grip about other than the bathroom is a little small in the standard rooms and the gym equipment was a little hit and miss.
But you do need to get out to another resort if you want a beach.
Puerto Calero is trying to promote an up-market resort but is struggling a little with businesses finiding it hard to survive. A couple of good bars and restuarants, but really, the food at the Hesperia is too good to miss.
I would definitely stay there again, however BA have stopped flying there and there is no-way I will pay 300 quid per person to fly Chav Air.
