We arrived at Axim on 26th December 2011. There were 23 of us all together, with 12 adults and 11 children aged between 5-18 years. Unfortunately we had a four hour drive from the airport in Accra, however when we arrived we soon forgot about the long drive. It was so picturesque, just like a postcard.
We were quickly shown to our room which was the family hut. Our rooms were very basic, but very spacious. We had 2 double bedrooms and a separate shower room and toilet to separate the 2 rooms..
We thought it was a little weird with a fridge and sink in-between also.
The Beach was 5 minutes walk away that was surprisingly very sandy and soft. We did not venture too far into the sea as it was extremely rough, but very therapeutic if you lay in a hammock or sunbed and just relaxed.
Breakfast was the only let down. This consisted of porridge, bread rolls and eggs that you had to ask for it also had some local foods. If you required bacon, sausage or cornflakes you had to pay extra for that. I would have liked to have had toast, however this was not available.
The evening was much better with a large selection of meats or fish, vegetables, pasta and rice.
The staff were all very accommodating and nothing was any trouble for any of them at all.
Our linen was changed every day and fresh towels also.
We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We would all like to go back and visit there again.
All rooms had excellent views, whether they be sea-view or land view they were all great.
