“Charming petit Chateau in Burgandy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

From the moment you drive through the gates onto the property, you can't help but be impressed by the beauty of the chateau and its grounds. It is well equipped with tennis courts and lovely pool tucked into the well manicured landscape. The entrance to the chateau itself is lovely and has the feeling of a small castle inside! Winding stairs go down to a reception area and dining. The stairs lead up to the larger rooms in the main building. We stayed in a lovely wing with rooms accessed from the outside off a covered porch. While these rooms are very small, they are well appointed and equipped with cable TV, and a lovely, tiled bath with tub/shower combination/ robes and slippers.

The dining room is a great atmosphere for the continental breakfast and perfect for dinner which was priced at a base price of about 59 Euros each, not including drinks. We elected to eat in the local villages, but the registration staff was not willing to share any names of local restaurants from which we could choose.....We had to find them ourselves. That made a very bad impression on us on arrival, and seemed out of character for such a high quality establishment. We are certain that the food at the hotel would have been excellent.

Room Tip: If you want a large room, stay in the main house.

we stayed at this hotel on 11 Oct, a warm sunny day. The pictures made it look very appealing but we were put in a small room in the side of building - no fancy bed or funiture. The pool had been drained so no swimming and I never found the sauna. The grounds were between the main road and the railway line, and very handy for the motorway! We didn't get to see the inside of the chateau apart from the lounge - large TV, hard chairs and too dark to read, and the dining room where they did put the light on once we were sitting down. The menu on display was for 39Euro (not cheap) with a selection of dishes on 3 courses. Inside the menu had no choice for the 3 courses and as my husband cannot take seafood, we had to go a la carte where the main courses were about 36 euros each, far too hight for a very straight forward meal . Overall a reasonably attrative location but very overpriced.

Nice chateau located between a motorway and a train track. Our room carpet was dirty and the bed covers didn't seem to be cleaned between guests. The swimming pool is outdoors, not indoors as advertised. Yet, what made our stay memorable was the owner-manager. The man has no idea of how to serve customers and is arrogant and full of himself.

We stayed at a contiguous building, not the chateau. The price was 145 euros (US $209.00) per night. The room was about 200 Sq Ft plus a small bath. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. However, the carpet urgently needs steam-cleaning. The large computer screen-size TV was on top of a small refrigerator visible only from one of the two beds. Breakfast (not included) is continental-type. Dinner took over two hours to be served. Basically, this is a B&B for well over twice the price.

We were a little worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews but we found our stay here very good. Our room was lovely good bathroom and views of garden and terrace. As it was very hot the pool was most welcome. We ate both nights in the restaurant/terrace and could not fault the food which was excellent in fact some of the best we ate in France. Our only complaint was they could do with more staff at breakfast which was a bit hit and miss.
Our reason for coming to this area was to do some cycling and we were not dissappointed with the cycle path that runs alongside the river/lakes nearby. We also found a lovely restaurant along the river for lunch.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would use it again when in the area.
