“Great service, excellent private island experience, but please release the sharks :(”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I visited the resort not as a guest but to enjoy a great meal at the restaurant. The resort was closed but the staff was so gracious that prepare an exquisite meal for us without previous notice, we were even allowed to use the private beach which is beautiful and very clean. But I was so sad to see that they keep at the back of the restaurant an enclosed area in the sea with about 3 feet of water in which they keep several type of fishes and 3 nurse sharks :( I don't see how can they keep them there to amuse the tourist, this is not what Belize is about. You have a great resort but please release the sharks!!

Royal Palm is a true island paradise. Its cabins are simple and clean with an unparalleled view of the Caribbean from your private deck. They contain every modern convenience you could possibly want including screened in windows, air conditioning, filtered water, satellite TV, and wifi. The common areas are beautiful and incredibly maintained. The entire staff is very friendly and will see to your every need. The managers Cornel and Margaret will greet you when you arrive, and make sure every experience is a great one until you depart. The private beach has incredible soft, white sand and remarkably calm, crystal clear water. They offer kayaks and an array of activities to keep you as occupied as you wish and their private snorkeling tours are the best anywhere in the world. We hated to leave and would love to return!

Spent 3 of our 6 nights at this resort as a part of the package deal by WOW resorts. (HIGHLY recommend them - the other resort we stayed in was Dream Valley Resort).

Royal Palm is amazing, weather was perfect in Late June/Early July for our visit. We could go kayaking, play chess, relax in the palapa (large hut) or go in the ocean whenever we wanted. Loved our massages, food, and beverages. Meals were taken to our cabana or eaten at the restaurant - however we'd like. Cabanas overlooked the ocean and had a back porch that faced the ocean.

We were the only guests at the resort, so we felt VERY welcomed and they were very hospitible to us - however they were NOT overbearing - they left us alone unless we wanted something which is how we wanted it.

This is the perfect place for a relaxing, slow, honeymoon or trip with friends as you can rent out the entire island! If you're coming here to have a high energy party astmosphere, this probably isn't where I would go unless I was bringing friends and renting the entire island to ourselves.

As a part of our 'adventure package' we went snorkeling - which was amazing! Swam with sharks, rays, turtles, got to see schools of fish and the coral reef. They packed lunches for us as we went on our 'adventures' as well!

Overall - I HIGHLY recommend Royal Palm AND Dream Valley Resort to anyone planning to travel to Belize. The scenery, people, food, water, everything is amazing. We'd love to go back!

Room Tip: All Cabanas are the same - you can't go wrong, they all face the ocean and are less than 30 feet...

Private cabana on the beach with our own canoes, kayaks, table/ chairs in the sand. Staff extremely attentive. Food was INCREDIBLE (and I am very particular). It was more expensive than other hotel and board packages that I researched, but I am glad that we stayed there. If you are looking for an all-you-can-eat buffet than I would not recommend this place. You will get a 3 course meal and it will be fresh, tasty, and very satisfying. No warmed over food sitting in a chaffing dish for hours here. Cabana had two private bedrooms with king beds and shower/ toilet so very suitable for family of four.

Room Tip: From what I could tell, there are 6 cabanas and they are all identical and on the beach.

Exceptional service and truly your own private island. We stayed in the blue cabin and it was just relaxing and very magical. Getting up in the morning and opening your door to the exceptional view of the Caribbean sea. You walk out of your room and right into the sea. Beautiful indeed!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are pefect!!!

We spent one night at the Royal Palm Island and were very impressed. We stayed in room 1, the pink house at the end of the row, so we only had one bungalow to the other side that was not occupied...it was very private. The bungalow was beautifully decorated for our honeymoon and the back porch and beach behind our bungalow was just like out of a brochure. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful snorkeling excursion that one of the staff took us on. Royal Palm was small, intimate, relaxing and absolutely beautiful. Be sure to hang out in the hammocks in the center pavilion/gazebo. I especially enjoyed the 6:30 get-together of all the other guests before dinner and loved playing chess on the life-sized chessboard. They serve 3 meals a day and breakfast was delicious! There is a small kitchenette with a sink, stovetop and minifridge for your use. There are only a few bungalows, so the stay here is definitely away from an overcrowded tourist area. Don't forget to bring mosquito spray and sunscreen. Looking forward to a return trip!

I went to this island for the 2nd time and i could not be happier. First time i attended was with a group of 10 frieds in june and we literally had the time of our lives. As soon as you open up your doors you are right in front of the bright blue ocean . It is truly relaxing and its a lot of fun. there are mnay things to do: Fishing, tanning, water sking, tubing, knee borading, snorkelling, scuba diving and more. Its not at all far from the other islands. The wetaher was always nice i wet in July with friends and In feburary with my boyfriend and both times i had a blast. It is truly the place to be on vactin!
