“Great Value for Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

All we wanted was a quiet few days away and this was the perfect place. The rooms were really big and very well equiped and cleaned every day. The bedroom furniture is in need of a little TLC but that is only cosmetic, All the public areas were very clean and tidy together with the pool area, plus the front of house were very helpfull. There are lots of restaurants on the golf complex, I liked Big Al,s on Sand Club where I had a 12 ounce fillet steak, the best I have had in a long. It is not a noisy area so stay away if you want vibrant night life. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would come back

Having used these apartments since they were built it's a pity to see that they are not maintaining the apartments to the degree they should. The fixtures and fittings are tired and in need of replacement now. The reception staff are unhelpfull with one exception being the young lady. All the public areas are well kept and the chambermaids do their best to keep the apartments clean.
You get the feeling that everything has been cut to the bare minimum, no longer do you get a lounger on your balcony just a very tatty table and two chairs. The garden and pool area that was called the Beach Club is now closed which is a great shame as it was a very good place to sunbathe away from the screaming children that sometimes frequent the main pool area. We have not eaten at the restaurant for some years but having viewed what was on offer it looked very very basic. The apartments were busy while we were there but most people we spoke to were on a Timeshare viewing visit which at £75 for a week is certainly good value.

Room Tip: Do not accept a room above the nightclub if you want to sleep.

We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment with out two children, aged two and four. Very spacious for a one bed, the patio being accessed from both the lounge and the bedroom (so we could put the children to bed then sit out on the balcony and enjoy listening to the waves!
When we arrived, we asked for a cot to be put in our room which was no trouble at all. The apartments had pretty much everything you needed, with the exception of a kettle, but you can boil water in a pot! The bathroom did have a separate shower to the bath(which also had a shower over) and the bonus of a huge mirror and a hair dryer!
The pool area was very clean and well kept. The pools were a bit cold though (but it was the first week in January) and are salt water. We did use the indoor pool at the adjacent hotel and that was as warm as bath water!
Things I wish I'd known before I packed/earlier..
You can hire pool towels from reception.
Wifi is available at 20 euros per week, but you can log on across the road at the wild geese for free when you get their password
If you wish to use the complimentary bus to Los cristianos for a few hours, book as soon as you arrive in order to get the times you'd prefer as the apartments only have 12 allocated on the coach.
If you want to use the laundrette, bring a washing tablet with you, or pay 2 euros at reception for one!
If we used the little supermarket next to the lovely Chinese restaurant, we were more likely to get warm bread!

We stayed for 6 nights Dec/Jan.

The rooms are spacious and clean (but cheaply furnished), the staff are friendly (but unhelpfull) and the pool area has great views.

The local restaurants are reasonably priced but the restaurants around the Hotel aren't very good. The Blue Harbour restaurant does a good breakfast and the Chinese restaurant is good value. We found a few nice restaurants in the town of Los Abrigos, which is 30 minute walk from the hotel along the coast or 7 euros in a taxi

The hotel is right on the coast with great sea views and there is a coastal path. This path is dotted with building sites but in one direction you can walk through a Nature Resevere, which is lovely.

The resort is umimpressive and San Blas is just awful. The resort has no soul and is just hotels and apartments interspersed with restaurants and mini-supermarkets. One plus is that it is only 15 euros from the airport.

If you are just going to enjoy the sun or play golf then its good value. If you are looking for a bit more then avoid this place.

We stayed one night in El Medano (12 Euro from Airport), what an awesome place. We plan to return there.

Just returned from 1 week stay over New Year staying at these lovely spacious apartments. As previously mentioned by other guests we choose the aparttments on self/catering basis as some of the reviews on HB were not always good. The apartments are just like shown online excellent big balcony we had front sea view of pool/friends could also see marina. The bedroom was huge and lovely living area with large fridge in kitchen and as stated two ring burner no kettle. Modern bathroom with excellent separate shower these apartments are only around five years old and the whole complex is of one of the best we have stayed over the last few years. We used this as a base and went out for meals entertainment so cannot comment on the restraunt in apartments however the staff in reception and maids were all very friendly and helpfull. The pool area is lovely and overlooking the sea/coastal path very relaxing.

Having always stayed All Inclusive this was a totally new experience for my family and friends and we had a truly fantastic New Year in Golf Del Sur excellent restraunts Taj Indian, Bistro 27, Aberdean Steak House and buffet chinease San Blas. All have set menu deals mostly 8.95 Euro for 3 courses unbelievable including fillet steak. Would definately return on self catering and Wild Geese across the road provides excellent atmosphere and entertaainment including cheap beer 7 days a week. We didnt go to Valeries bar or Winter gardens however many more lovely places to eat in San Blas. Used free bus to Los Christians lovely day well worth the visit also Loro Park is amazing 40 Adult 27 child in ticket shop(inc transport).Overall a truly enjoyable holiday in a relaxing resort and Tenerife was very pretty lots of cactus/palm trees no litter and Golf del Sur is quiet may not suit those with very young children looking for lots of activities etc. we had children 10 15 yrs. There is a fairground in Los Christianos. Will definately return and rate 4 star .

Room Tip: Choose high room

Big rooms with nice view, air conditioning, adequately equipped for a quick meal and a coffee/tea (fridge, coffee machine, microwave oven). The staff is friendly, breakfast is allright (same everyday but plenty to choose from). We only booked bed and breakfast and it was the best decision, as there are lots of restaurants in the area with great food and reasonable prices.
The area itself is quiet and very well located if you choose to fly to Tenerife South Airport (20min drive, taxi costs around 15 euros). The noise of the airplanes arriving or departing from the airport didn't bother us neither at night nor in the morning.
You can have a 15 min walk to San Blas where you can choose from lots of restaurants, bars and shops, we even got a good deal renting a car there from Sabrina's for about 20 euros/day.
The hotel itself offers trips by bus to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas if you don't feel like driving, but we highly recommend renting a car as there are a lot of great places to see on the island.
Must sees: Teide, not only the volcano but also the area around it (if you want to go up on the volcano itself I recommend booking your permit in advance quite a few weeks before travelling); Masca village, the road to the village itself is quite narrow and steep but the views are fantastic; Loro Parque where every show and every corner of the park is worth seing, you should take a full day for it; a trip by boat to Los Gigantes and to see the whales or dolphins swimming in the ocean; butterfly park in Icod de los Vinos.
Tip: a 5min drive from the appartments, next to the motorway (Autopista Sur) there is a good supermarket called Mercadona with good prices for water, beer, wine, salads and so on.
We traveled to Tenerife in mid October and the weather was great, not too hot and not cold, the ocean water was a little cold but allright for a few quick baths in-between, the hotel pool is also good, never too crowded and also with plenty of sun beds. We would definetely go back to Tenerife and we would also definitely choose Aguamarina Apartments again.

Room Tip: Rooms at higher floors are more quiet especially if there are a lot of children playing in the pool.
