“Relaxing Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

A great hotel for relaxing loved all the antiques,.everywhere was very clean & the staff very friendly & helpful all the meals were lovely & beautifully presented preferred the main restaurant though. The room was large and well provided with everything you could need pool towel, dressing gown slippers etc. Stayed in the main building there was plenty of areas for you to sit & chat with friends or read.
There were three pools one heated the other two were very nice but very cold & a small beach plenty of sunbeds.
The only negatives the clientele are of a much older age group and tend to be quite cliquey as they have all been going for years not a lot of families or young people.,There isn't a lot to do unless you go into Palma although the hotel does put entertainment on through out the week. But overall an enjoyable holiday for chilling out and relaxing..

We have just returned from This gorgoeus and quirky hotel. Could not fault it, that is why there was so many returning guests, one couple been going for 20 years twice a year that says it all.
From our arrival when unfortunately our room was not ready, but we understood that as we arrived 11am. We were shown through to the gorgeous balcony and given a glass of bubbly. My husband wanted to watch the British gran Prix where he was shown to a large boardroom with a very large screen. When shown to our room 108 we were very impressed as we walked into the room and then when we stood on the balcony and seen the magnificent view of the medeterranean
I love tradional hotels and this is very tradional I cannot even describe it, you will have to look at the photos, even they do not do it justice you will just have to book up and see it for yourself.
On our first evening in the restuarant where you are given a menu where it is waiter service. Martin the owner came round the tables introducing himself and aksed what kind of day we have had, also a brief history of the hotel as I asked as it is such a different hotel than any we have been to it is very interesting.
While our stay there it was my birthday, we had booked in beach restuarant I do know how they knew other than from my passport we were shown to a table overlooking the sea, we were even presented with a menu with my name on DOB and the menu for the evening then a bottle of bonsols own label cava and then a small cake with a candle in, I could not have had a better birthday.
Marin and Lorraine the owners of this jewel in the Mediterranean should be so proud of what they and the family have accomplished over the years. They also should be proud of the staff as they are all lovely, cannot do enough for you I am so sorry I cannot name them all but 1 young waitress had only been with the bonsol 3 weeks svelte ( I think that's how it is spelt) from Bulgaria always smiling although no doubt she was very nervous, also a young blonde Russian girl who served us round the beach again so helpful, smiling all the time and a real sense of humour.
I would like to thank from reception, bar, waiters, kitchen, room service staff and of course to Martin and Lorraine for making it feel like home from home.
Hope to see you all again in the near future.
Sincere regards
Val and Ken Johnson

I just got back from a short trip over the weekend from this hotel and was very impressed. What originally attracted me to the hotel was the pictures of the secluded beachfront and excellent TripAdvisor rating. The location to me was perfect and was excellent for families and/or couples looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. The staff were great and our check-in process was the nicest I've had. We showed up in the morning, and instead of checking us in right away the lady at the desk asked if we wanted to eat breakfast first and then worry about checking-in. We left our bags with the staff and went to sit outside and eat breakfast. Once we were finished, we headed back to the lobby where our room was ready and they showed us to our room.

We stayed in a Junior Suite, and it was very comfortable with a beautiful terrace overlooking the beach. It included a small table with chairs and two sun loungers. The only strange thing about the room, was there were two bathrooms and one had a toilet and the other a bidet. I have never seen a bidet without a toilet in the same bathroom. It didn't impact my enjoyment of the trip (and it was even a fun talking point).

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner/manager during our afternoon lunch overlooking the beach and he was a very gracious and pleasant host. We did not eat dinner at the hotel since we had plans elsewhere, but the lunch and breakfast menu offered a good selection and were well prepared.

For any of those that are wondering, the hotel was very quiet at night. I would definitely go back -- it delivered exactly what I wanted and more.

For those leading busy lives this is just the place to unwind and re-charge the batteries - which is why this was our 10th visit in some 18/19 years. The rooms are excellent and well provided with all you need. The owners and their staff cannot do enough for their guests. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the (quirky) layout of the hotel and grounds lends itself to being able to find a variety of quiet corners. The two restaurants (hotel and beach) are very different but both excellent - the sound of waves lapping and guitar music at the beach is a must for the romantics! However, some updating of the entertainment in the main hotel wouldn't go amiss.

The results of the annual refurbishment and re-decoration programme were clear to see when we visited - next winter this needs to include sports and games equipment..

Although there is not a lot to see/do in the immediate vicinity the local bus to Palma is cheap and frequent and the city is well worth exploring.

It is always a pleasure to holiday at the Bon Sol and we shall be back next year no doubt.

We have just returned from a 4 night half board stay after staying for a week in palma. We had a lovely comfortable room (403) which was in the main block with a side sea view and overlooking the mini golf. The balcony was large enough for a table, 2 chairs and 2 sun loungers. Next door balcony looked much bigger! Staff were all friendly and helpful and the owners were visible throughout our stay.

The food was delicious and of a high quality. We ate at the beach restaurant 3 out of 4 nights and the formal restaurant 1 night. We loved sitting at the beach as the sun set eating our meal to the music of paco and his guitar.

Lots of interesting parts of the hotel to explore and tai chi looking onto the sea was really enjoyable.

At first we couldn't really understand the number of guests who return time after time but the whole experience really grew on us and we would return.

We returned to our favourite hotel in June. It is a testament to this hotel that when we travel to other parts of the world it is to this establishment that we turn to in order to make comparisons.
We have enjoyed every visit and this stay was no exception. Lorraine somehow prised out of me(I still can't remember how) my idea to propose to the wonderful lady that shares my life. Two nights later we found ourselves walking towards a table festooned in flowers, slightly away from fellow diners, and with a bottle cooling in the ice bucket. The menus were personalised, the food was magnificent, and we dined by the sea as the sun sank slowly below the horizon. Magical moments.

The surprise was total and the lady said yes and no words can fully convey our thanks to Mr & Mrs Xamina and their staff for providing a night that will remain in our memory for the rest of our lives.

This Hotel delivers on all my essential points. Food, pools, sun beds, rooms, gym, sea, entertainment, service, relaxing areas and an eclectic mix of fellow guests. Fellow Tripadvisor reviewers and readers book a different hotel at your peril.

Room Tip: if you like the evening sun ask for rooms that are on that side of the hotel because some of the sea...

Once again another fabulous holiday at this lovely hotel. The staff and the owners are so friendly and really make an effort to ensure that you enjoy your stay. This year we opted for full board as the meals are such good quality there really is no need to eat out. I will definitely be returning next year.
