“Great food, great service, cosy atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

We booked a table at The Old Glen House on Saturday 26th Jan (last minute) and had a delightful dinner....enjoyed starters, mains and coffee (including beer and wine) and the bill for 4 adults was a reasonable £90. It was our first stay in nearby Shipley (from York) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Service was fast and with a smile, so 10/10! Thanks for a lovely evening.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Booked sunday lunch on the day. Warm bread served. Roast beef and yorkshires were very good as were the roasties in goose fat vibrant peas carrots and cabbage served al dente.
The lamb was really tender a great bottle of wine for £13.95 will be going back.

“Lovely Yorkshire welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We attended a party here and the welcome was wonderful. Hard working and friendly staff who care about their service and food. Party food was excellent and a high standard, it would have been a great place to try Sunday lunch but we had to return to Cornwall. Nice atmosphere with pleasant rooms and surroundings. A wide selection of ales plus tea, coffee and hot chocolate available. The Christmas menu looked good too.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

After reading others’ reviews, I chose to take my husband here for his birthday as we were staying nearby. It is tucked away in a quiet residential spot.

Lovely guest ales on offer and wonderful food. My husband had steak and I opted for chicken off the ‘two courses for £13’ menu, which was fantastic value. Both main courses and our puddings were lovely. Good choice across the menus too.

Very attentive waitress and lovely environment to eat in. Would highly recommend.

“The food was cooked to perfection.”

I've only dined here once but I could not fault anything about the place; food, selection, ambience.
