Galeria Saro was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there and we are so pleased we listened to them. The house itself is like a postcard come to life - white-washed facade, black wrought iron railings on balconies, potted geraniums in dazzling colours - set on a cobblestoned street with foot traffic only. The nearby town plaza with its clock tower and beautiful views is a focus for the locals and tourists alike.
When we were there in April/May the weather was beginning to heat up however the house was pleasantly cool inside. We stayed in one of the two upstairs self-contained rooms with a twin bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a sitting / dining room with kitchenette and a tiny balcony onto the street. We were completely private from the rest of the house and felt we had our own special hideaway. The rooms were spotlessly clean, decorated in a rustic comfortable style.
Our hosts Sue and Alberto gave us great advice on things to see and do in the area and beyond. Jimena turned out to be the perfect base for exploring Andalucia. Alberto, who speaks Spanish, was an invaluable help with our onward train and accommodation bookings. Our two weeks at Galeria Saro went all too quickly.
