This is our second time at this facility in one of the honeymoon suites. Each time we stayed for 3 nights. The suites were clean, the king sized bed(s) are very comfortable. better pillows are needed...the ones now are barely passable. The whirlpool baths are larger, with more jets, than the standard found in many hotels. The interior decor is reminiscent of northern lodges but much better than the ones in Algonquin Park and other areas. These are true suites i.e. separate bedroom from living room and jacuzzi area.
The televisions are somewhat dated, but this year there are more channels available than in the past.
The exterior of the building/second floor exterior walkways are in
need of repair and updating. The view of the water and sunsets from this "balcony" are great. More outside chairs are needed.
The breakfasts served at the on site restaurant are excellent and inexpensive while dinner is mediocre at best. Unfortunately, last year and this year, the restaurant was closed more times than open, making it rather inconvenient for guests who would rather stay on site rather than hunt for a restaurant in North Bay.
Staff are friendly, courteous and make every effort to assist guests with any issue. From a value perspective, staying here is worth it. It is a quiet and clean setting with larger rooms at a much lower price than hotels in the area. We will stay here again if we are in the area. However, management does need to address the walkways and the issue of the restaurant staffing/opening and let clients know if it will not be open. We wish management well and hope they make the additional investment(s) which can and will make this establishment an exceptional place to stay. Do we recommend this place? Yes, without hesitation.
Any of the suites are good. Honeymoon suites are a true $ value with lots of space and comfortable b...
