The local tourist info center in Beaune suggested this tour, which we split over two days, one at the cote de nuit and the other in the cote de beaune. For folks like ourselves who enjoy the entire process of winemaking from growning to drinking it was perfect. With the 4x4 we were able to get up into the vineyards for a close up look at the methods and varietals used in Burgundy. Francois was able to answer and discuss our numerous questions and took us to a wonderful tasting at Boursot pere et fils in Chambolle-Musigny. It was just the type of small family run winery. Once the proprietor realized our interest in wine she really opened up, and although she spoke no English and I very little French we were able to get a real insight into this important part of French culture. The wines we tasted were also a perfect reflection of the grower and the location, with each vintage and vineyard offering subtle but distinct differences. If you love wine, take this tour.
