Stayed here 2 nights on business. Absolutely fantastic, can never go wrong at any premier inn but this one raises the bar, great staff, great food, great trip. Would stay here again without second hesitation.

Stayed here 3 times now and standard is high - rooms very clean and choice of pillows from soft to hard! Comfortable beds and the breakfast is great value for money - lots of choice and high standard.
Cannot fault this - good location for tub and overground to London without the London prices.,

Our stay at the Premier Inn started off on a slightly unpleasant note. It’s a small thing, but it made a huge difference to our stay.

We had booked our room months in advance from booking.com, so we managed to get a very good rate. The receptionist had my full name, mobile number and amount of nights we were staying, yet somehow he couldn’t find our nightly rate. He insisted that we should pay the last minute walk-in higher rate, not the one that was on our booking. After my husband forwarded an email of the original reservation to him, he agreed to honour the original rate.

That would have been fine and end of the story, but the receptionist kept on saying that he had given us a discount, and that without proof of the discount he couldn’t have given us a discount. I don’t understand why we had to justify an online booking we made so long ago! Surely the onus is not on the guest to prove anything. He made us feel like we were trying to get away with something that we weren’t entitled to when we were doing no such thing!

In our view, it wasn’t a discounted rate, it was the rate that we had booked ages ago! If this guy isn’t happy with guests not paying the last minute full rate, he should go ahead and take it up with the Premier Inn head office and tell them to not allow booking.com or any other hotel room booking sites to market their rooms. Don’t take it out on guests, it’s not our fault!!!

Both my husband and I were too tired to argue the point, so we just let it go. Besides, who wants to start their weekend break or any holiday for that matter, with an argument?

Regardless, this was our first contact with an employee here. This man treated us like he was doing us a favour for simply doing what he was supposed to do! Some tact and a bit less aggressiveness would have done wonders for everyone. We think there’s no need to talk to guests like that. So unnecessary. We were polite and friendly with him the whole time, so it's not like we were hassling him or being rude.

The rest of the staff was wonderful. The manager was always happy and smiling and so was everyone else we met. The cleaners greeted us cheerfully everytime we saw them.

The room was fine, and it was very quiet even though the hotel was full on both nights we were there. I thought that was surprising and good.

Our bed felt a bit old and lumpy. You could see body shaped indentations left by previous occupants, but it wasn’t the end of the world.

I’ve attached some pictures so that everyone can see that it’s a good sized room.

This is still better than the Ibis just down the road, but that guy at check-in, I just don’t know. He kind of ruined my impression of this particular hotel with his negative attitude. It’s a shame, because everyone else was great! I will still stay with Premier Inn though, because the others we’ve stayed in have been good. I have an old review of the Euston one here as well, and that was excellent. Anyway, I’m hoping that this was just an employee having an off day.

Please excuse all our stuff strewn all over the room.

We stayed here for an overnight stay to celebrate my Parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary on 06/10/2012. This was the closest Hotel to the venue.
Our room was 208 and on the main road which proved to be a very busy road even on a Saturday night/early hours Sunday morning. In the morning there were numerous trucks, lorries and workmen carrying out road maintenance work (from 8am Sunday Morning). The room was too stuffy without fresh air, and when we opened the window too noisy so we closed it again and decided to put on the Aircon. This was far too noisy too. We had a sleepless night. We felt that we could have benefitted from a bigger selection of beverages in the room like Hot Chocolate and more tea bags, coffee, milks and sugar.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the main road i.e. at the front are noisiest. Ask for the rear of the building and at...

We booked online which was very straightforward. The hotel is bright, clean & modern. We found friendly staff & excellent service. A free car-park & excellent restaurant make it an ideal choice. It's only a short walk to the station, but the Reception staff will sort out a taxi for you if needed. Great for a short break holiday to London.
