“Our favourite B&B yet !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

A big thanks to Teresa and Clive for such a warm and friendly welcome !
We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay - admittedly we weren't in the house for long each day as we were catching up with family and out and about but each night it was a joy to return to a warm home and the most comfy bed ever ! Breakfast was a feast (thank you Teresa for accommodating my lot with no fuss !) and the kids were overjoyed with the halloween festivities and gifts :)
Would highly recommend this B&B and we will without doubt return to stay the next time we are in Wales :-) xxx

This is the third time we have stayed with Clive and Teresa at there fantastic Guest house.
We hired out the place for two nights as we were down for the Porthcawl Soul club's 60's Soul night. On Friday night we were truly entertained by Teresa and Clive in there 60's and 70's themed night, music, karioke, bingo, party games, great food and all in fancy dress.
The Butterfly Guest house is a tremendous place, great location, class rooms and fantastic hosts.
I would highly recommend the Butterfly as a great place to stay

We found the hosts Teresa and clive to be friendly and very welcoming, the room was beautiful and clean, the breakfast was excellent, and nothing was to much trouble for them, we would stay here again and would recommend to our friends and family.

I booked the Butterfly on the back of it's Tripadvisor reviews and am so glad that I used this site first as I cannot fault it. I almost ended up somewhere very, very different!

I arrived around midday and was able to check in immediately which I was surprised, but very happy, about. Theresa showed me to my en-suite room, which was spotlessly clean and had all of the facilities that I would expect.

Free, on-site, car parking is available at the rear of the property and is accessible through the dining area so no long walk or fees to pay.

I had an excellent nights sleep and the bed was very comfortable, blinds on the window in addition to the curtains is a bonus too and keeps out most of the light.

Breakfast was great and the dining area comfortable with Clive and Theresa very friendly and having a good chat over plenty of gorgeous filter coffee.

The shower was nice and powerful with a steady temperature maintained, unlike a lot of places I've got experience of.

The location is good, it's in town but far enough from any bars and shops for it to be quiet and not too far from the main road either.

What I love about the Butterfly is that it is unique. Each room is different and decorated in it's own colour scheme with individual layout. I'll probably never go to Porthcawl again but if I did, I would try and stay here before anywhere else without a doubt.

In summary, a unique, spotlessly clean bed and breakfast run by a lovely, friendly couple and excellent value at the price.

We recently stayed 4 days at the Butterfly Guest House the only words we can find to describe our stay are " BRILL ; FANTASTIC and SUPERB " .
Teresa and Clive are the best hosts you could ever wish for . From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome . Nothing was too much trouble . The accomodation is of a very high standard both in cleanliness and comfort . We had the pleasure of enjoying an evening out with our Hosts which was an absolute " HOOT " .
On each morning we were served with a wonderful breakfast which set us up for the day and with all this said , we cannot wait for our return visit already booked for next May ! Tom and Alistair Stoke-on-Trent .

Room Tip: Any Room at the Butterfly is a GOOD ROOM .

Stayed for 2 nights with my mum and 2 children (4&6) in the painted lady family room.

We received are warm welcome on arrival and where VERY impressed with our room. There was lots of space considering there were 2 single beds and a double. The bowl of sweets and teddies for the children showed excellent attention to detail and was a wonderful touch.

The room was well decorated, modern and spottlesley clean.

Another warm welcome greeted us in the morning from Teresa and we sat at our table where she had set the children's places with children's bowls and plates. The children were absurdly delighted by this. Teresa then proceeded to make them pancakes as they didn't want cooked and they told her they were as good as grannies!

This is a wonderful place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I even noticed a Moses basket and travel cot in our room so it is ready for families with any age children.

Thank you Teresa for making us feel so welcome and at home. We will be definitely be back next year.
