“Good stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Nice hotel with a pool and fitness center. I got a room on a high floor facing the garden. Very nice view of the plains. The room is cozy with AC, wifi, cable TV and balcony. The bathroom could be better. Service was a bit slow. But overall good value.

i liked this Hotel alot because it has delivered us More than what we were expecting from a Nepalgunj Hotel, we arrive quiet late in the evening & The Restaurant served us amazing delicious food on the beautiful Back yard Garden very polite & Friendly staffs with great smile, it was really One Among the Tallest hotel Building that i have seen looked like a Radisson Hotel In Kathmandu the elevator worked nice easy & Soft check in at the Reception Only down side was the dirty Mold water opposite our Window which really looked annoying & Bathrooms were spacious but can be alot better with little more care. in one word i describe it GREAT HOTEL IN NEPALGUJ.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2012

I'd been staying in pretty grotty hotels in Kathmandu and eastern Nepal before I came here, and had braced myself for grossness. To my surprise, this hotel was quite decent, considering we were in a very poor, mostly rural area of a poor country. The internet worked fairly well in the rooms, the electricity didn't shut off (or maybe they had a generator?), the food was pretty good and didn't make me sick (always an issue in the developing world), and the service was good.

We didn't always have hot water; one say I woke up early to fill a bucket with hot water, and sure enough, later that morning there was no hot water.

The outdoor temperature wasn't hot enough for air conditioning, but the AC in the rooms looked new-ish and functional. There were some mosquitoes in the halls but not the rooms.

All in all, surprisingly comfortable considering it was a trip to the field for me.

jopyEdmonton_Canada said this is 'Only' hotel with swimming pool - No, Hotel Batika has also got swimming pool. Also he said that 'one of the only air conditioned restaurent ' but there are several air conditioned restaurents in Nepalgunj. Popular are one in Hotel Batika, in Hotel Sneha, One in Hotel kitchenhut, Siddhartha cottage, swastika cottage, Kitchenette, spicy home opposite to Nepalgunj nursing home and a few other - these all are air conditioned.

This is by far the best hotel in Nepalgunj. The only one with a swimming pool and an elevator. They have their own generator when the electricity goes down. They also offer pick up and drop off to the airport for a fee. One good thing about them is that they are only 10 minutes from the airport so the staff will call the airport to make sure the flight is running and get you out there for your flight. This way, you wait in the air condition hotel instead of the hot airport. Rooms on the fifth floor are the best and make sure you view the room before you take one. I have been there 2 times in Oct and was in several different rooms. The best ones are the air condition room on the 5th floor over looking the rice paddies.

It has has one of the only air condition restaurant in town and it was very good - must try the garlic naan and the butter marsalar.

Room Tip: Choose a AC room on the fifth floor if there is none, check out the bathroom and make sure you do no...
