“Very charming -”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012 via mobile

We stayed two nights with our 12-year-old daughter. Our bed was fantastic - hers not so much. It was a roll-away bed that broke within two seconds of her sitting on it. She weighs a mere 77lbs. So I fixed the slats a couple times and it was fine. But anybody bigger or heavier would have had serious problems sleeping on it.
The breakfast was very nice in a cozy room with nice service. The dinner was okay, it was a set menu with three choices for appetizer, main and two for dessert. I was disappointed that te next day we pretty much had the same choices except for one different main course. The waiter in the evening was obviously overwhelmed with the six tables in the restaurant. He needs to hone his customer service skills a bit.
Overall it was a nice stay but one night would have been enough.

We stayed for four nights in July 2012. We used the hotel as a base to travel to Honfleur, le Mont St Michel, D Day beaches, and Bayeux. What a beautiful hotel. We could not fault it. We are a young couple and splashed out a bit on this hotel.
The gardens and surroundings are sooo beautiful, it is peaceful and relaxed. We didn't spend much time chilling out there but it would be easy to spend all of your time just relaxing in this lovely place.
We headed off early most mornings to explore normandy so we ended up getting breakfast on the go and didn't have it in Auberge de la Source until the last day... oh my goodness it was wonderful. The best breakfast I've had in a long time, fresh breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, jams. it was so delicious and simple. Cant believe we left it until the last day to enjoy it.
The staff were exceptional, we were craving coffee one night and they bought it up to our room even though it was late.
The room was beautiful, open plan, shower was fantastic and lovely toiletries.

Room Tip: Don't miss breakfast, You would need a ar as hotel is isolated (this makes it lovely and peacef...

We stayed 3 nights and just loved our visit. We found our room most comfortable and lovely linens. Our room was one that is shown on the website. It was quiet and peaceful. The bathroom being "open" so to speak was not a problem at all for us, thought it was a perfect fit. Breakfast was excellent with a large assortment of breads, cheeses, pastries and more. We dined in the restaurant 2 evenings and loved the food. the dining room is cozy and service was excellent. In fact, all the service was just way above the norm. Staff could not have been friendlier. I can highly recommend this lovely spot, gardens were so beuatiful. We really enjoyed cocktails and canapes in the garden before dinner. We also walked to Honfleur and enjoyed a couple of good meals there as well by the water.

Stayed two nights and had a totally relaxing time. This hotel is excellent. Friendly, beautiful and immaculate. The tranquil gardens are wonderful, the rooms are really good. We were upgraded to a room with bath in the garden. The room was quiet and spacious. Others have commented on the bath situated directly in the bedroom, so will add little further here. We found it a nice change but it wont suit everyone. The wireless internet didn't work in our room but it was fine in the comfortable hotel lounge. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant in the evenings but did have breakfast. The breakfast was the best continental breakfast we have had for many years. 100% Self service which we liked with plentiful French breakfast produce. 10 out of 10 for the breakfast, and the bed and pillows should not go unmentioned. Many hotels have poor beds, even good hotels. The bed and pillows in our room were again the best we ave experienced in many years. If we are in Honfleuer area we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a couple of nights and wished we had booked in longer! had a room in the gardens which was very clean and comfortable and high standard. Only thing we did not like was the the shower area is open plan if you like privacy this may not be to your liking. The evening meal is wonderful worth booking in advance as gets busy, fresh ingredients, good quality and value for money wished we had not arranged to eat out on the last night as hotel restaurant was wonderful. Location lovely and gardens amazing. Will definatley visit again.

A lovely auberge 4 Kim's from Honfleur
We used it as a pied a'terre and from here went visiting different places, the garden is lovely with ponds and fish
We took a Demi pension and breakfast & dinner, both were fantastic !
The cuisine is very good, every day with 2 or 3 different propositions, deserts also very good.
We had a "charme " room with a bath tub, very nice !

An absolutely delightful one night stay for our final evening in France. We stayed in a 'Campagne' room (cheapest) on a dinner, bed & breakfast rate. The room was lovely (albeit small - but fine for us) with such a comfortable bed & pillows and top quality bed linen. There was a wet room with a great shower and tasteful toiletries - plus the towels were large & fluffy and bathrobes were provided. The towels were even changed whilst we were at dinner. The gardens are beautiful and the surroundings so tranquil. We enjoyed a chilled kir on the terrace and were brought shelled prawns and radishes with fleur de sel to nibble on. The young man who checked us in, served our drinks and also our dinner was extremely polite and helpful - a real asset to the place. Our meal was gorgeous - a set menu of the day with 3 choices for each course - all served with friendly, professionalism. We almost didn't stay for breakfast because it can sometimes be overpriced and disappointing in France, but I'm so glad we did! We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed a wonderful array of fresh breads, pastries, cheese, ham, fruits, eggs etc., etc. Then we discovered the breakfast was included in our D,B&B rate anyway, so very pleased we stayed and enjoyed breakfast. There is free wi-fi but hardly any mobile signal (we did find a signal when we walked into the village), but the young man did warn us as soon as we arrived. The only slight niggle is that it was a really hot night and the duvet was too hot; a separate top sheet would have been perfect, but how many hotels supply that anyway?! We should have slept with the windows open but were a bit worried about mosquitos as the river and waterfall were just outside our room; however we didn't see any mosquitos so probably would have been OK. The gardens and surroundings are lovely and the hotel provided various different chairs, tables and sunloungers to sit outside. I think there was a lounge inside, too. Honfleur is just up the road but we didn't have time to stop there, but we will next time because we will definitely return to the Auberge de la Source.
