“Unpleasant experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

I would have liked much to read the reviews from MallorcaLovers and Aledatreviso before spending a night in this hotel because they are a perfect summary of our stay there. Indeed, the web photos show a hotel with very good shape, with good views and quite new and the truth is that this is the case. In addition, the swimming pool and the gardens are very careful.

However, I have to highlight several negative aspects that make the stay in this hotel in the worst of the 10 nights we spent in Sardinia.

1. The room is clean and comfortable with a very small bathroom, without any luxuries. Bathroom kit consists of two soap envelopes. Something impressive taking into account the price of the night in this hotel.
2. The breakfast is very scarce and of poor quality. A juice made with water, bag smiled ³⁄₄, packaged yogurt, cereals and some ham and cheese. Also something impressive taking into account the price of the night in this hotel.
3 As they have mentioned in other reviews, near the hotel there is a Kennel so sleep is very difficult even with the window closed. During the night I woke up on numerous occasions. At 7am the dogs barking and howling made impossible to sleep.
4. Finally I would like to talk about the owner of the hotel, is an unfriendly person who showed at all times a deep mistrust towards us. It is assumed that a hotel should try to make you feel at home, here we feel like intruders. During breakfast this person was watching us, looking at us constantly and waiting anxious that we far to tell us that we had to pay, as if we were to escape. It was a really annoying situation.

In short, the experience was very negative, we feel very uncomfortable in this hotel that has a very bad price-quality relationship: 150€ night when they should really be gaining 100€ night, as much. In fact, I am not surprised that this hotel has a 50% occupancy in August.

Finally, I would like to say that it is surprising that they have not been able to learn from their mistakes because as you can see between the MallorcaLovers review and the mine there are two years apart and the negative points are the same.

It is sad to speak ill of a hotel, but I believe that it is necessary to take my time warning other travelers.

I liked the look of this hotel on the internet and although it only had one or two reviews, I went ahead and booked it.

The hotel is in a lovely location with views to the mountains and the sea. The gardens are beautiful and well laid out. However, the pool was freezing and there were only 5 sunbeds even though there were more than 5 of us staying here at the time. That's the first moan.

The welcome at reception was not great. They weren't sure how many nights we were staying even though I'd emailed several times to confirm. No mention was made of the huge restaurant which suprised me, as I thought they would have wanted guests to dine there. They serve only fish and seafood with a set three course menu for 33 euros. Not too good if you're a vegetarian! The room we were given was lovely, large and bright, with a great terrace. Bed was okay, bathroom a bit small, but then it doesn't need to be huge.

Breakfast was a huge disappointment. I was not expecting a full English but a surely piece of fresh bread is not too much to ask? Apparently it is in this hotel. Breakfast consisted of a yoghurt, a pre-packed brioche type bun, pre-packed french toast (the type that breaks your teeth), a tin of peaches between 5 people. The only saving grace was the fresh coffee.

The worst part of our stay (we were booked for 5 days but only stayed 3) was the two packs of barking dogs on either side of the hotel. I appreciate that they are nothing to do with the hotel and it's probably the way of life in Sardinia for them, but to be kept awake every night listening to the poor dogs howling was awful. I felt really sorry for them and they were obviously miserable. There didn't seem to be a time when they were quiet i.e. if you sat by the pool, it was never peaceful.

A real shame that I've had to write such a negative review of a hotel that could be really, really good if only they would make a few changes.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2008

We have just returned from a week in Sardinia, we hired a car and travelled around. We happened upon a small hotel as we thought and drove up the driveway to discover a fantastic row of 10 apartment type rooms in the middle of nowhere. As it was the first week in April, a lot of places were not yet open so it was great to discover this beautiful place in a lush valley overlooking the countryside. We were made very welcome by the chef Gee Gee and his very friendly assistant in the kitchen who called the owner to sort out our accomodation. The accomodation was fantastic with a lovely balcony overlooking the coiuntryside. Everything was new, the complex is only 1 year old, and finished to the last degree. The chef told us he would prepare a typical sardinian meal whenever we were ready. Unfortunately we were the only ones staying there for the night but had a great meal with lots of differnet courses, everything was cooked fresh and was the best meal we had in Sardinia and it was also HOT. It was a big decision to leave and travel further, it was the best place we stayed and the best food we had on the island. Absolutely spotless.
The price was 80 euros for a double room
The food 30 euros per person for the full meal, wine and drinks were extra 12euros for the wine and extra for liquers but well worth it.

  • Liked — clanliness/nice big room and bathroom
  • Disliked — hilly way up to it
