“Lovely little cycling hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, very clean and quiet with everything you could need. The bed was comfortable, the room had great airconditioning and we had a secure place to store our bicycles and park the car. I would highly recommend. Breakfast was very good with the traditional European fare. Martine speaks very good English and was there to help whenever we needed anything. Also is a great place to meet other cyclists.

After being dropped of by our team car it was very nice to get out of our wet cycling gear and into warm dry clothes.

Our room was very clean & tidy, as was the bathroom, with a nice warm shower.

St Jean de Maurienne is a pleasant town and we went out for a few beers to toast our lucky escape.

I slept well, we were at the rear of the hotel away from the road and it was nice and quiet.

After a good breakfast we headed off to climb the Col du Glandon and back to Bourg d'Osains

Like other reviews have said, its a good base for a lot of alpine climbs, the breakfast was a good indicator than the owners knew their clientel

I stay at the St. Georges hotel every year while cycling the French alps. The location is ideal with many classic rides literally just up the street (Croix der Fer, Col du Glandon, etc). The rooms are ideally suited for cyclists, being clean, reasonably priced and with a handy breakfast room. Martine (the owner) is a delight and her mother makes fantastic jellies and jams for the morning breakfast - they are not to be missed!

Room Tip: There is a small parking lot behind the hotel and its a real 'hoot' to drive through the old...

The rooms are simple but well appointed clean and comfortable. There is adequate parking behind and a system for night entry if you have booked.

The owner speaks english, and is very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is not special, but more than adequate.

It is close enough to the ski resorts to act as a base or a stop over en route.

It would not take long to see all the sights of the town, but if you are into mountains then a good centre for this valley.

If you need to stay in the St Jean area you won't be disappointed here.

I have just recently stayed at this hotel for four nights and the hotel owner couldn't do enough for us. She spoke very good english and helped us out with any problems. The room was excellent - the whole hotel has just been refurbished to a high standard and there was a separate lock-up provided for our bikes. All the major climbs are on the door-step - you can cycle to them all from the hotel! I will definitely be back to conquer the Galibier!

This is a great hotel with a good location for cyclists.

The staff is great, even though all not speak english, its not a problem at all, as they understand what you want.

You get great value for your money.
