My husband and I were driving from Osoyoos to Vancouver yesterday (Aug 25), it was lunchtime, we were hungry, and there was Hedley. This was the first time in many such trips that we've ever turned off at Hedley to see what's there. It actually doesn't look very promising from the highway. We were drawn to The Hitching Post restaurant and were glad we stopped. The historic builindg (1903) is well maintained. The large, bright, high-ceilinged room is old-fashioned and attractive and about half the tables were occupied. The menu has a nice variety and the service is attentive. My husband had a steak sandwich with caesar salad and he said it was delicious, cooked rare as requested, and the tenderest he has had. I had a Cajun chicken "burger" (sandwich) also with caesar salad. Delicious! The chicken breast was grilled and very, very moist. The salad was delicious too. The prices are reasonable and we will definitely stop there next time we drive that road.
