Overall great stay. Rooms spacious, well designed, very romantic. Go for a bayview upgrade if they're not full. The staff was wonderful. Genuinely friendly and helpful. The menu was very limited, the portions not enough for the prices. At one point we thought they counted the fries on our plate!
The pool bar was ok, as was hurricane hole. Some weren't good at mixing drinks but overall they were decent. I would stay there again only if we can glimpse at the menu again. it got really boring after 4 days and we stayed 10 days! The location is not great as far as getting around. The rainforest is decent, a bit overpriced. Skip doolittles, chateu mygo is nearby as well and not impressive. The staff not friendly or attentive, and the restaurant was not full. The daily trips to the beach were ok, except they don't mention having to pay for beach chairs where you go. The price is outrageous since its only for 2hrs or so the trip lasts. Better to take a towel and lay out for free. Most guests stay to themselves so don't expect a lot of action in the pool or bars. It got boring after a while since they held no activities to get guests to mix and mingle. Other than that it was ok, I can't say I was so impressed I would stay there more than twice.

Fantastic hotel – with stunning rooms and a great restaurant.
Ian the general manager made a great effort to change our room - we had book a bay view suite with splash pool.
The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful and we had a great relaxing time.
The pink snail produces some fine cocktails & and the free day trips really made the Island accessible.
A Visit to the Rain Forest Hideaway is a must – fantastic food in a wonderful setting at a great price.
Will defiantly make a repeat visit

We spent a week at Discovery in September as part of our honeymoon. We booked a Bay View Room which is exactly what it was – tremendous view! The room was spacious and contemporary and the bathroom was huge with twin basins and large walk in shower. The decked pool area was great but I wonder how congested it gets in high season – there were approx 40 guests when we were there (low season). The swim-up pool bar was superb and particularly taken advantage of by the husband who was keen to get regular Ryder Cup updates.

There are two restaurants, Boudreau (where breakfast is served) and Hurricane Hole Bar, plus the Pink Snail Champagne Bar. The former serves a la carte and had a very tasty (although not vast) menu. Excellent wine list but very poor choice of Whiskey’s (note to Sven, F&B Manager, from husband – a few more Scottish Single Malts would be most welcome). Hurricane Hole Bar serves bar snacks and was popular for pre and post dinner drinks. The two venues are next to each other but whilst we were there building work started with the intention to move the HHB down to water level and expand Boudreau. I think this will be a most welcome move as I did wonder how the restaurants coped in high season when they were operating at full capacity. It is worth mentioning though that all guests (including ourselves) had no advance notice of the building work from our tour operators (as Discovery advised should have happened) and for those guests staying near the building work this was a bit of an issue. As a result the staff put on additional water taxis to various beaches throughout the day so those guests could escape if they wished to. Although saying that the building work was well away from the main pool and so most of us continued to relax around the pool.

What can I say about the staff? Excellent. All staff were very friendly and it was genuine warmth – which can be rare in some top end hotels. There was a very relaxed yet professional and courteous atmosphere which suited me and my husband (unlike hotel we went on to stay at in Grenada). As it was low season, many of the hotel excursions were cancelled so we had to go solo on a few occasions but Tracy (Concierge) was so nice about it and helped us arrange our own trips that it was impossible to get annoyed.

Discovery does feel a bit like it is in the middle of nowhere. There are no other hotel resorts in the vicinity so if you like to have a big choice of bars and restaurants and to wander down ‘a strip’ on an evening then this is not for you. It does however have a couple of small restaurants which are walking distance/two minute water taxi across the bay (Chateau Mygo and Doolittle’s). There is also a small selection of shops in the marina including a coffee shop, bank, supermarket, souvenir shop and clothing boutique.

We do not normally return to the same hotel as we like to try as many new places (countries and hotels) as possible but we have decided that we will return make a return visit to Discovery. We enjoyed every minute – even though we were not so lucky with the weather!

My husband and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Discovery Hotel at Marigot Bay.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, it was wonderful. We had reserved a 1 bedroom suite and were given not only the suite but one with an outdoor jacuzzi, which was great to sit in after being out all day on excursions.

Our suite had a separate living area which also included a dining table, a fully fitted kitchen (which I must confess I did not use!) and also a utility room. The fridge was stocked every day with complementary drinks, which also included a few tins of the local beer, Pitons. There was also complementary tea and coffee provided.

The hotel, unfortunately , does not have direct access to a beach. This problem is overcome by the hotel provided 2 complementary boat trips each day to nearby beaches. 1 at 9:00 am to 12 noon and the other from 14:00 to 17:00. My husband and I took advantage of these quite frequently and found them perfect. The hotel provides it own boat for these trips. The boat is very comfortable and the staff who accompany you on these trips and very, very helpful. The beaches provide sun loungers and there are beach bars where you can purchase both snacks and drinks. Beware that there may be a small charge for the use of the sun loungers on these beaches, roughly £2.00 We were not charged as it was low season and they were just glad of the custom.

We dined at all the restaurants in the hotel and found no fault. We also dined at a local restaurant, Doolittles Restaurant , which can be reached using the small ferry from the marina. We found that there was more choice at Doolittles than in the main restaurant at the hotel. Food at the hotel and also at Dootlittles was not cheap but it was good.

If you want a relaxing holiday, look no further than Discovery at Marigot Bay.
