My husband and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Discovery Hotel at Marigot Bay.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, it was wonderful. We had reserved a 1 bedroom suite and were given not only the suite but one with an outdoor jacuzzi, which was great to sit in after being out all day on excursions.
Our suite had a separate living area which also included a dining table, a fully fitted kitchen (which I must confess I did not use!) and also a utility room. The fridge was stocked every day with complementary drinks, which also included a few tins of the local beer, Pitons. There was also complementary tea and coffee provided.
The hotel, unfortunately , does not have direct access to a beach. This problem is overcome by the hotel provided 2 complementary boat trips each day to nearby beaches. 1 at 9:00 am to 12 noon and the other from 14:00 to 17:00. My husband and I took advantage of these quite frequently and found them perfect. The hotel provides it own boat for these trips. The boat is very comfortable and the staff who accompany you on these trips and very, very helpful. The beaches provide sun loungers and there are beach bars where you can purchase both snacks and drinks. Beware that there may be a small charge for the use of the sun loungers on these beaches, roughly £2.00 We were not charged as it was low season and they were just glad of the custom.
We dined at all the restaurants in the hotel and found no fault. We also dined at a local restaurant, Doolittles Restaurant , which can be reached using the small ferry from the marina. We found that there was more choice at Doolittles than in the main restaurant at the hotel. Food at the hotel and also at Dootlittles was not cheap but it was good.
If you want a relaxing holiday, look no further than Discovery at Marigot Bay.
