This hotel is down right beautiful. The staff are great and the grounds are surreal. Rooms are large, well cooled and look out on a rather beautiful bay.
The quirks are that there is no beach BUT they run complimentary shuttles to beaches. The bar shuts down rather early for a hotel which is not directly on a large strip of places to go at night.
There are a few places nearby to eat but going up the hill or to the next town opens up to many more options.
The value was high for us as we booked as part of a package and got a huge discount.

We split our 8 night vacation between Discovery and Rendezvous. We stayed 3 nights at Discovery, and really enjoyed our time. The staff was polite and courteous. Always responsive if we needed something or had questions.

Rooms - we were upgraded to an awesome room with a plunge pool. Very clean - pretty much spotless, with nice linens and furnishings. Loved the decor and waterfall shower, and the kimono robes. Honestly, our room was one of the nicest we've had in the US or abroad.

Food - Best food and drinks we've had in the Caribbean, but we normally stay at AI's. Breakfast was included in our rate, and was very good. They provided free bottled water in the room. Lunches and dinners were excellent and reasonably priced. We loved looking out over the marina. Great drinks too - get a BBC - not on the menu, but sooo good.

Beach - 1 minute water taxi to the beach - it's okay. Pretty scenery and the locals are nice. But, not many people there, and the chairs are a bit worn out. We would've gone to a different beach if we stayed longer.

Overall, we loved our time at Discovery. We were there during low season, so it was extremely quiet. Maybe too quiet for some people. But, we enjoyed it. For us, it was cool to switch up the routine a bit, so we stayed here a few days before moving to an AI on the beach. In the end, it was one of the best parts of our trip.

This is the most amazing place I have ever stayed. Maybe is it because we splurged a little and this was way above what I'm used too! It was just amazing! The view was amazing and the pools were cool! The food was pretty good. While it is a little far away from most things on the island you can just hire a car or catch a taxi. If you do decided to book tours through the hotel they will charge a fair bit extra. But I really miss this place. Me and my boyfriend had an amazing room!!! I gave the spa a rating of 1 because we payed for the room with a working spa and when we got there it was broken. But we thought why you need a spa when you have an ocean!!!!!

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay that was away from the bigger commercial resorts to experience the Island for all that it has to offer. The Discovery at Marigot Bay is absolutely beautiful! We stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon and it was picture perfect! The staff was so friendly and accommodating to our every need, even during the Tropical Storm that happened during our stay! Discovery is secluded, there are no real restaurants to walk to, only the one on the boardwalk and a small market, so if you're looking for a hotel that has lots to do, Discovery is not for you. The private beach Discovery has is across the way and you have to take a very short boat ride to get there, which is free...the beach wasn't as glamorous as we hoped, but a beach none the less with bars and food.
If you decide to take day trips, Discovery is about 45 mins away from everything, so be mindful of this. We highly recommend PHV Tours for private car services, Kimbert the owner is absolutely a pleasure!
