“Wonderful place to stay in St. Lucia!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

My husband and I stayed at The Inn On The Bay for our honeymoon in May.
We researched many options prior to settling on The Inn. We decided not to go the all inclusive resort route as we like to explore and do our own thing and did not want to pay for a bunch of activities/food/drink that we would not use.
We decided a bed and breakfast venue would suit our personalities better.
We read all the reviews on Trip Advisor and could not find anything negative about The Inn.
We contacted Normand and Louise and they responded so quickly and were incredibly helpful in helping us arrange anything we needed or answering any questions we had.
We stayed with Normand and Louise for a week and loved every minute of it!
They are truly gifted at what they do and make you feel right at home.
St. Lucia itself is beautiful, but there is something special about Marigot Bay.
There are plenty of activities to do around the Island during the day for those that want to stay active. We enjoyed our first day just snorkeling around Marigot Bay and using the little beach where you can rent kayaks and such.
We picked 4 activities outside of this as some activities can be fairly pricey. Hiked the Pitons(which we recommend if you enjoy hiking and are in good shape. It is very very steep), snorkeled, ziplined, sailed, and explored the northern side of town one day.
We took boat taxis and car taxis all arranged by Normand and our drivers were all very nice and we felt safe.
There are plenty of areas to relax and lay around as well- Smugglers Cove by the resort Cap Maison is a very nice small beach.
If you are looking for a big party at night Marigot Bay may not be for you as most things slow down around 10 PM.
We received a phone immediately upon our arrival at The Bay which was great! We were able to call Normand and Louise for anything during our stay.
Normand will drive you into town or arrange any transportation/activity you want to do.
Louise makes wonderful breads in the morning.
We were able to truly cut off for a week and just enjoy our time together.
Highly recommend The Inn. You will not be disappointed!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Normand and Louise for welcoming us into their stunning home and lives. As hosts they go above and beyond and Louise's freshly baked cheese muffins for breakfast were spectacular! Views, pool and comfort in the room are all top notch and the atmosphere and choice of restaurants in Marigot Bay is the best on the island. Only a 15 minute walk into the bay but Normand generally won't let his guests walk and does an amazing car service!
We only stayed 2 nights which was definitely not long enough. We can't wait to visit again and will be recommending to our friends and family.

Stayed at Inn On The Bay from May 18-24. All of the comments "Sampford" posted on this trip advisory are absolutely the gospel. I believe these same folks were there when we reluctantly had to leave. We had the absolute best time ever. What more can we say about Normand and Louise. We have never felt more comfortable and welcome than here. Everything was just so easy, of course Normand works very hard making it that way. Louise is an angel, and one of the best bakers around, I am sure. During our short stay, we kept Norm busy arranging several excursions which proved to be a great value. Supplying us with our daily ration of Pitons, carting us up and down the hill at our beck and call and being fellow Montreal Canadian fans, keeping us surprised of the Habs Playoff progress. We are looking forward to seeing Normand and Louise again in the not too distant future, and encourage anyone who is considering a trip to St. Lucia to give 'The Inn On The Bay' a try, you'll surely be glad you did. See you soon guys.

Just back from 11 days at the Inn on the Bay. 1st visit there, read trip advisor for a place to stay and the Inn comes out tops so off we went.
It did not disappoint.
The real thing is just like the photos.
Norm is an absolute hoot, loves his job loves his guests. goes the extra mile
Issues you with a cell phone when you are there for the duration so he is always available to answer cries for help or for a lift back up the hill to the Inn. without this service ,and what a service this is, staying there would not be easy unless you were a mountain goat as the road up from the bay to the Inn is steep winding and rough terrain, BUT Norm in his new 4x4 (which still speaks to him in Japanese as he hasn't worked out how to change the instructions to English!!!!!!!!! ) that is all they haven't worked out as being hoteliers they have to an art, take all the guests up and down at different times to suit you again and again - all part of the service.
Yes the bed was 'firm' (and high off the ground) but kept immaculate as was the whole place,
a word of caution - Louise bakes fresh cakes and muffins for breakfast ummmm, but sometimes you have to beat Normand to the table so you get your share - (told him I would put this on trip advisor) His knowledge I would advise you to follow as the trips he get for you from water taxis (Cuthbert and Cornelius are great at taking you to places safely and courteously as is Albert the taxi driver , lovely guy and such a safe driver
- always felt safe with them
We missed having a beach so went 4 times to Anse Cochon by water taxi, the snorkelling is good and safe but of course this adds to he expense. but if the beach is your thing then go there it is good and the Restaurant on the beach is good too
All in all the Inn on the Bay does what it says on the tin.

Louise and Norm make the place a home for there guests but without intrusion Cheers guys it was fun

Room Tip: Book early we had room 4 the only one upstairs, it is breezy and therefore noisy with wind noise...

Norm and Louise are great hosts. Norm has a good variety of breakfast items. After the first day when I asked for ice for my coffee, Norm had a cold cup of coffee waiting for me every day! If you need something, just ask Norm and if it's in his power (and within reason) I'm sure he'll make it work for you. Norm made all of our taxi and food reservations and personally drove us to the bay multiple times a day. The cell phone he provides is a perfect touch and provides a sense of comfort.

Norm is very knowledgable of the island and took all of the stress of planning out of our vacation. We were confident he would book the best trips. He has done his research to know prices and who is good at what. While he is extremely accommedating, he is not overbearing. He has a great sense of when you want privacy or when you want company.

You really can create any situation you want at The Inn on the Bay. It's in a great location overlooking the bay. The rooms are large, clean and well maintained. The bed was very firm; I could have used a mattress pad. But I'm sure if I had asked, Norm would have got one for me. :)

My vacation was just perfect.

Amy

We planned a last minute trip to St Lucia with the intent of scouting destinations for our wedding. We were looking for something more personal in order to get more information about St Lucia and options for a wedding of our size and price point. Based on reviews on TripAdvisor, we contacted The Inn On The Bay to see if they had any rooms available. They responded very quickly and offered us their 20% discount for booking within 2 weeks, which was great! When we explained our goal of scouting destinations, Normand and Louise were more than happy to share suggestions on places for us to consider, and offered to chat more with us when we were there.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Normand and Louise who showed us around the lovely property and helped us into the room we would be staying in. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which is on the top floor next to Normand and Louise's own quarters. The view was simply amazing! They gave us an overview of the options for dining and exploring, and Normand offered to go over the list of resorts and give his input the following morning.

Not only did Normand give us his opinions on the many resorts St Lucia has, he also had mapped out a plan for us to follow over the next couple of days. It was so incredibly helpful, and with this we were easily able to explore everything we wanted to see within the short amount of time that we were there, and still had a day and a half to actually be on vacation!

We rented a car while we were there because we wanted to explore all of the resorts on the island, but it is definitely not necessary if you're staying at The Inn On The Bay. Normand is always willing to drive you down to the water, where you can eat, relax, or catch a boat to explore the island, and pick you up when you're ready to come back.

We had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to stay at The Inn On The Bay each and every time we vacation in St Lucia! Normand and Louise are amazing hosts and make this Bed and Breakfast the perfect place to stay!

We stayed at inn on the bay for our daughters wedding. The view and surroundings are stunning. The inn on the bay offers excellent personalised accommodation, everything to a high standard and nothing is too much trouble for Normand & Louise. The bay has a good range of restaurants and we enjoyed a day bird watching, a day kayaking, as well as a day on a coastal sailing cruise. All this as well as a wedding simply but excellently facilitated by our hosts.
